It might not change dynamics of acceleration, but it will certainly change car's character handling wise. It won't be as tailhappy anymore if staying in NA with that much rubber (i guesstimate of course that you will fit wider tires fitting for these wheels too), i guess more probable is case of 'going like on rails'. With that much grip slipping will happen at much higher and dangerous speeds and very probably at more sudden rate.

I will try to give as much info as I can..
I want: 17x9 245 or 255 / 40 (unless another size is recommended) I have/am: 1" drop (might go about .5" more later) -1.5 F, -1 R Camber SPC Bolts up front SPC LCA in the rear what would be the ideal offset? My alignment shop said -1.5 was the most they could get out of the front (I trust them). I can get more in the rear but don't really want to with only -1.5 front. Ive done the calculators but you see it says something will fit and someone on here says it rubs and what not... so yeah, what offset would be best for this drop and camber on 17x9.. thanks!

So I'm going to get some work wheels for next season, and I was thinking O-disk, so would these fit, without any rubbing?
I'm lowered with 15mm that is about 0.6" with the JDM TRD adjustable spring kit. 18x8 ET 30 front and 18x8 ET 18 rear wrapped in 225/40/R18 tires They could also deliver 18x8 ET 35 front and 18x8 ET 22 rear but that is A-disk. same type of tires ofc. I'm on stock brakes. O-disk got more lip (deep dish), and A-disk is standard. And I tried the calc, and i looks ok with the deep dish, but just want to ask, so I don't en up rubbing and destroying my tires :p Cheers

I'm surprised your camber isn't more with a 1" drop, especially in the rear.
Ideal offset is +35 for a 17x9. This will be flush and clear, plus will give you clearance if you ever want to go with a BBK. Suggest a 245/40R17 unless you need more tire (power), then try a 255. Quote:

Way too low offset. For an 18x8, you want something closer to +40.
You might be okay in the front with +30, but +18 rears will likely rub the fenders. Quote:

You should be good to go. I would get something at least x9 widths in the front if I was ordering a custom 3piece setup. Bigger sizes hold their value better and hold meaty 255+ tires and big power better too. |

![]() But yeah you got a point about 18x9 resale value, big power wont be an issue, after I live in Norway (it's a lot more strict than Germany too here), so a turbo or supercharger aint gonna happen, as it is near impossible to get legally, if you're not an millionaire that is ![]() But wouldn't the 18x9 hit my mpg in a bad way, and also my power?

@Teclis the setup you have planned will be more nimble than a wider setup. But will also have less overall grip. Depends on your driving style/preference. Yes a bigger wheel will add weight and you will take a small hit in the power/mpg, it ends up being very little, maybe 1hp and 1mpg.

My camber was -2.6 with lowering the car before I did LCA.. I didn't want to run that much camber in the rear without that or more camber in the front. But since I don't have camber plates in the front so I can only get -1.5 in the front. I had the shop put the rear camber at -1 to keep handling good. Quote:
I was unaware of using two camber bolts.. hmm.. with that I would probably bump the front up to -2 and -1.5 in the rear.

Mach V wheels are +42 and many people seem to run them with no problem. With 255 tires they may be close to the strut. |
