Be careful with aluminum foil over the battery.

It won't conduct as one of the terminals has a plastic cover.

Aluminum haha

Use black trashbag, and pull sides over delicate parts. Or...rubber bands or string to hold down

We have a engine bay cleaning guide here: http://www.stayfreshcarcare.com/#!En...f21d84af67e5ee

Your engine needs to be cleaned just like the paint on your car. Do not neglect it as it will be harder to clean.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with pressure washing your engine bay. Our APC is formulated so that you do not need to agitate.

Using a 40 degree nozzle is harmless.

Just pressure washed mine this morning and cleaned it with all clean from chemicalguys. I was pretty nervous and first but once I actually started all my inhibitions washed away. It was pretty fun, truth be told.

I removed my battery completely to get to the tray and gunk that was back behind it. I didn't cover my fuse box, however I did cover the battery terminals (with the battery removed) and the alternator with plastic bags. I also covered my HIDs where they connect to the bulb and ballasts by just draping a plastic bag over the area where they were situated. All in all the plastic bags did a splendid job at keeping the water out for the most part. After I hosed it down I sprayed the all-clean in the cracks and crevices as well as a majority of the engine bay; then I went to town with a variety of brushes, agitating the dirt. Once I let the solution sit for a bit I blasted it clean. I tried to use short, controlled bursts rather than one continuous stream of pressurized water.

Air dried for the most part as I removed the noise tube generator and installed a supertek intake tube. My engine wasn't terribly dirty to start with, but dirty enough to the point where it bothered me. Here are my results

I used another chemical guys product, silk shine, on the plastic bits.
