You know there wasn't a 2012 MY and we aren't being defensive. Just pointing out that part number changes don't equal performance improvements especially when they don't show any performance spec changes. The 2015 FA20 is still 200 hp and 151 tq. This is just 2015 MY owners wishful thinking and disappointment that their car is the same.

Come on guys, it is not that simple. The engine had a few issues with injector seal failures and miss fires codes and there was also a TSB trying to adjust a bit the ECU. From my point of view, the ECU adjustment was a bandage solution. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to solve these issues with a small revision of the internals. A performance improvement can also be considered an engine that works better. Specs might be the same, but you don't want to have an engine that tries to pull constantly timing!

I work in the manufacturing world, source for 3rd party suppliers change all the time. You make a contract for 1 supplier when it is up you discuss pricing, or find a cheaper source with same quality.

Just like renting an apartment, landlord wants to raise the rent on lease renewal, move to a new place.

FA20DIT is an entirely different story. It is focused on boost with different internals, while FA20 is focused on lightweight components giving you a high-rev engine. Some people tried to combine parts from the two engines and found many differences.

You are driving an FRS and you should know that numbers and specs don't say always the truth ...

Hope to not include your car into this list: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15577

It looks a big one and still growing ... FA20 engine was a new desing and seems to have issues.

Cars manufactured after July 2014 seem much more stable.

The theory is that the car is A. still breaking in at 2000 miles. Either that or

B. my engine is a lemon
C. very very very bad tank of gas
D. high humidity
E. combination of A C &/or D

my 14 made 156/131 w/ a AFE intake. 165/138 with the intake and a dezod catback. drive around town with people that have JDL UEL and OFT stage2 tune my car is no slower than theirs. dont look into the number so much as the gains you make with the parts. its just a tuning tool. low tire pressure, way too tight of straps, a shitty weather station, a realllly hot shop, dirty bearings in the rollers... all things that can throw the number off.
