Heat reflecting oil pan idea

We all know of the oil temp issue, so i came up with an idea. Since the headers run so closer to the pan they have to radiate some heat. Yes they are already heat wrapped but maybe adding some sticky heat reflective tape to the front and sides of the pan might help bounce some heat off?
Well it seems to have raised my temps from an average 208ish to 221 calmly driving down the highway on a 88 degree day, idk if its insulating the oil that bad or if the sensor is being affected. I dont recall if i saw the temp sensor on the pan or not but has anyone else tryed this??

sounds like a double edged sword to me....sure you would be able to reflect some of the radiant heat from the header away from the pan but then you would take away the heat transfer from the oil pan to the natual air surrounding the pan....

maybe the better option would be to get an oil pan that has slightly larger capacity so that there would be more oil to cool down in the pan...i remember seeing a company that offered one.

ya i think thats what it is doing, maybe a finned pan would be a good idea, like a heat sink

Just where the header is closest, or the whole thing, or some mystical tiger stripe pattern?

What about heat fins? Helps the ambient air wisk away the heat faster?

A plate between the pan and the exhaust would be better with a bit of an air gap between it an the pan. If you wanted to take it a step further, now that you have a sort of duct, run a scoop to the front to force air through it and over the pan.

Basically any surface that has heat radiating toward it.

Oil cooler fixes that as well as a larger pan

It was more of a "why not" since the Tomei header includes heat wrap...

If track cars usually have oil coolers installed anyway, isn't it simpler to not bother with oil pan heat shielding? On daily driven ones oil temps are lower, so less of a reason there too, no?

I have an oem oil cooler which helps but on track it still gets hot, those external oil coolers are terrible idea for this engine because oil pressure is already low. So finding an alternative solution that doesnt cost me engine bearings in 15k is the idea
