WRXs have always had a great style and as I walked into Subaru to check out the BRZ I was afraid I would like whatever the new WRX was, then I saw it and I threw up in my mouth a little. "So, where are the BRZs?"

Ever since I upgraded the clutch and pressure plate but kept the stock flywheel, I've not really noticed the torque dip as it revs up faster now. I thought Porsche also has this torque dip around the same rev range (been a while since I've driven a 986 2.7L so can't quite remember).

I think ever since the early to mid 2000s that mechanical feeling with sport compact cars have slowly been disappearing.

If you have a $35k budget, why would you buy an FC instead of an FD? It's possible to get FDs in fairly good condition for as low as $10k-$15k... I even see shells for as low as $5k some times, which is a pretty good deal if you're willing to put in the work (or want an LSx instead of a rotary anyway :P)...

I still miss my FC3S Turbo II. Loved everything about it except the electrical system. So I'm definitely biased in opinion, but since it won't be a DD, I'd say get the FC.

Wasn't that bad as long as you had spare wiper switches and cleaned the window contacts daily... :P

My center dash warning light module would light up like a Christmas tree sometimes too, even though everything was fine in the car...
Car came with the factory security system, which would randomly sound, so at its worst, I was disconnecting the battery every time I was done driving for the day until I permanently disabled the system.
And yeah... Those pesky switches. Even with all those electrical issues though, I loved that car.

Pics of my old 1990 Turbo II; I loved that car; for all of four months before the apex seals went... It had 203k on it, so it was on its second engine already. Oh well! It was fun for a $2000 car bought sight unseen on eBay. I parted it out and made my money back. The exhaust note was great, driving dynamics were a lot of fun, but the gearbox was a little iffy (probably due to mileage) and the interior plastics were rubbish; I broke a few pieces trying to take them off.

....I used to have two of them....they both blew up. However. I have the softest of soft spots for the FC3S. And despite my best judgement I will probably own another.
