I know you PM'd me already but I feel like I should update the thread too for anyone else looking. I've been running a modified version of one of Shiv's tunes for the SBD Turbo kit on E85 for two weeks now with no issues or knock. I've got more testing and logging to do but if anyone has specific questions I'd be happy to answer. Also I'm running stock injectors and not showing signs of fuel cuts (yet), and would wager I'm somewhere around ~250whp (7psi). Since I'm not knocking at all (most I've seen is ~1 degree of FLKC) I believe I have a lot of headroom to push the timing, but I see no point in that until I'm on a dyno and can properly assess how well it's doing in the power department. Big thanks to Shiv too.

I have been slowly getting ready to give this a try on my vortech at 9 psi and then eventually 11 psi. My plan was to pull timing back modify the fuel to the 30% increase and then work the timing back in. Any suggestions of other parts of the tune you modified? BTW I am running a 270 lph pump and about to install FIC 540cc injectors.

Thanks for the tip. I don't currently, but I will shortly. I basically am dissecting the na e85 tune and the ecs e85 tune. |

I just changed Cranking Fuel IPW Compensation A (RPM) instead of dealing with the 6 tables. This chart corrects cranking fuel based on coolant temperature. Car has started on the first try down to 50 degrees.

You don't tune E85 like you do petrol. If all you're doing is creating a tune so that you can drive to the dyno with E85 in the tank that's fine. But don't expect that you can adjust timing on the street and hit MBT.

^^^ What Wayno said. E85 is not knock limited like petrol so you can go right past MBT and not know it on the road unless you have somewhere to do repeatable pulls. Will be interested to see where you are up to at the moment. Still at 9psi? |
