I think if the new miata goes to c street then you guys will all have issues. That car is surprisingly quick based on initial magazine tests. 0-60 in the 5s, 1/4 in mid 14s.

The other question is, can the new Miata run heads up with an S2000 or non Z06 C5 vette. They can't really make C-Street like F-Street where the bar gets raised every time they make a faster mustang or camero. Otherwise, C Street will start catching B Street on the next redesign of the 86 and Miata. What would open up B-Street to a lot more cars is if they would move the non Z06 vette back to A street. I think GM made less manual transmission Z51s then the number of Lotus Elise exported to the states.

UI don't think they will class it in B street because the c5 and s2000 are going to be faster. They won't bury that car imo. Cstreet is in trouble lol

I read this right after I just bought your sway bar.

If the ND is getting mid to high 5 second 0-60 times, and it's lighter than an S2000, it should be able to run heads up with it in B-Street. It would also add another new car to the B-Street mix besides the 370 Z. On the other hand, as popular as the twins are, the ND will outsell be a mile, and the SCCA won't want to risk burying the car against a 7 year old Honda.

I no longer have a dog int he fight, sold my BRZ in April.

However, I saw gearing graphs on the ND and it's 2nd gear is woefully short. The epic drivers may be fine with many 2-3s then 3-2s in each run but it's going to hamper it's solo effort in stock trim. If they aren't lying, it looks like ~54mph for second gear.

CRAZY short transmission with a really long rear end.

This is stock ECUs though, no spinning higher. Taller tires (OEM is 205/45/17) will increase a bit at the cost of the sharpness but it does has the same size wheel as the twins so a 235/40/17 will fit well on some times but they you're almost as short as OEM again.

If the gearing is that short, then they must shift to 3rd to hit 60mph. If they are shifting to third and still nailing 0-60 in 5.8s we are in trouble.

I have STX class letters, but TTD looks appealing as well. Do they allow port-installed options for no points?

I believe they moved the MX5 MSR to BS, so I would guess that this Miata would go there also...

So the potential to spend 5 figures is OK for STX, but if you didn't have the magnets it would be off the table? That's so autocross

That's right, was thinking ST even though this is the Street discussion.

That's only because it was a slight overdog combined with extremely limited availability (had to be one specific model year with $3k of extra parts installed).

Chris Harvey autocrossed the ND back to back against his well prepped NC, both on Rival S tires. I think the results will be in GRM soon. Won't be apples to apples but it'll give a good indication of the car's potential. If bone stock it's faster than the NC, we have a small chance it goes to BS. If they're anywhere close to being on parity, forget it.

Same tires but the ND will be stock? If the ND is faster than his developed NC then we are really screwed.

Keep in mind that Harvey's NC has baller double adjustable Koni's with added compression. Anyone running OEM or single adjustable shocks in the NC has had essentially zero success in CS.
