Is there a header providing performance gain and stay cool like OEM ?

Ok it seems most header are bringing some nice performance gain but I can see that the factory header has massive heat shielding around it.
Reading the forum I see that many have problem with heat after installing headers. Mainly the infamous coil problem for those who track their car.

are there any headers addressing this reliability issue ?
are coating effective ?
are heat wrap effective ?

I don't want to have to heat wrap everything around the engine to gain a few HP...

Ceramic coat.
Tune your fans to keep your engine bay vented under a certain speed.

That heat shield doesn't prevent the coil pack problem from happening. In fact, it's worse because the OEM header also has a cat, which retains heat pretty hardcore...

You have got options here:

1: Ceramic Coat
2: Heat Wrap
3: Combine 1 and 2
4: Exchange hood for vented version
5: Combine 1, 2, and 4.

The key is to reduce radiating heat and reduce the closed oven approach to cooling.

You could also fab some heat shields to deflect radiant heat for the coilpacks and other vital sensors in that area.

It's in the works at some point...not enough time in the day or days in the week!

I'm using a ceramic coated catless header and haven't had any issues with coil packs at the track. It does get super hot and I can feel waves of heat pouring out from the front right fender area after sessions. It's probably a combination of heat from the header/OP and brakes. I just make sure to keep my hood open to let that heat vent out between runs. If I could do it again, I'd probably ceramic coat my OP as well.

You sound like you could use some hands. Two to be exact, these two.

My informal application only fabbing experience i have is building legos and some middle school metal shop with an acetaline torch and mild sheet metal. Perfect canidate lol

I'm running the OFH ceramic coated, everything else stock. I've logged engine oil temp before and after on several occasions and it seems that my oil temp stays a bit lower now with the OFH. This wasn't a controlled test by any means, and I can't say anything about radiant heat hurting engine components, just a casual observation.

No cat and a less crowded engine bay plus ceramic coating theoretically should mean less heat..at least in my mind!

I have uncoated aftermarket header and have no heating issues at all and i track my card hard... I do have an oil cooler though

may be I can try to add a switch on the dash to trigger the radiator fan
I'll have to look into it, I bet something has that done somewhere already
