The bottom line is what are you willing to spend, it's easy to throw around "I paid x"

Is the car worth it to you?

Don't ever buy and expect to be able to get rid of it a year or two down the road and not lose $

I had a 2010 Civic SI sedan that I gladly lost $ to get rid of.

There will ALWAYS be someone who paid more and someone who paid less, I think it's a fair price, but it will also depend on what your getting for your trade.

You want the best price on a new car? Use the internet and let the dealers compete for your business.

You want the best price on your trade in? Get your car appraised at Carmax and multiple Subaru dealerships.

Get ALL of your information and select the car you want.

"I can sell you a Brand New BRZ limited for $25k, I'll just give you about $2500 less on your trade"

Thanks, trade in was the highest of 6? dealerships. Last 2 dealers (Chaplin and Titus) matched up on the trade in number but one had a used car for $23k after negot. and both were able to come down to $26.5k for a new limited (another 2 dealers wouldn't go down past $27k). Though it was almost not worth it for the time spent traveling and negotiating.

I chose to purchase at a time where used limited's were not a dime a dozen in the area and I was against new from the beginning because of the '16s and I just prefer used in general. I wouldn't have even considered new if these things depreciated like every other brand.

OP, you have to decide if the 3K in savings on the 2014 is worth it for you.

15's added sharkfin, new keyfob, black dash panels, and different exhaust tips. 16 will likely add backup camera, 8 speakers instead of 6... and who knows what else.

If you don't plan on owning long term, used is probably best, but if you're planning on keeping it for five plus years, new might be better.

There are not a lot of used BRZ limited here in new england either...

That's pretty much what they are going for here in New England too. Truecar.com has program estimate right at 26.4xx.

Sounds about right to me...
