Check engine light after Header Install

Alright, yesterday I installed my new headers and mid pipes. I ran the car for almost 75 miles and had no issue. Today the engine light came one. I used a set of Manzo equal length headers with a c200 converter. The mid pipes deleted the second cat and resonator. I've got a cat back exhaust from there. Has anyone experienced this same issue? I live in Ga where we have emissions so I went with the header that had a cat. I haven't checked out what code it is yet. Have to run to the part store to have them do that for me. Figured I would ask first and see if you could shed some light on the subject. Any info is helpful. Thanks.

It's because of the aftermarket headers. It is to my understanding that all aftermarket headers, catless or not, will eventually throw a code for cat efficiency unless you get a tune.

Well I guess since I need a tune I'll go ahead and throw on my intake. Hahaha!!! It will cause to bog out and die in idle. Does anyone recommend a certain time and who would you recommend to do it. I'm in Canton, Ga area. Thank yall for your quick replies.

Like others have said, any aftermarket header (without a tune) is likely to throw a CEL sooner or later, and most certainly if it is catless; that does seem quite early, though.

From what I've seen, and the anecdotes I've heard from several others, Manzo makes some poor quality exhaust products. In my local group, we had a guy that bought their exhaust, and had to take it off the car not long after installation due to numerous fitment issues, among other concerns (see this thread - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71389).

At this point your best bet is likely to just drop the money on getting a tune, which will help you take fuller advantage of the header, so I imagine it's something you'd plan to do in the near future anyway - GL.

I had the same issue -- flashed to a Stage 2 UEL tune with OFT and no more annoying CEL! Also got rid of the torque dip!

Check the thread for the Speedfactory catted UEL. There is more than one code that you can get. One of them can arise just from having a bunch of air flow increasing mods and doesn't mean the cat/sensor is bad. Either way, a tune is strongly recommended with any aftermarket header.
