I doubt it's getting too hot. I used to get ceramic coating on headers for rotary race cars... I don't know why it's flaking; that's for the powder coater to figure out when they fix it. It was sand blasted before coating, and you can see it underneath the flaking.

Edit: I just noticed today that my ceramic coating is flaking off after only two weeks on the car. I am NOT happy. I've been doing this for years and this is the first time I've had this happen...
Crappy paint job - they probably put the coats on too thick. This happened to me and I brought mine back for a redo. No charge of course, major hassle though. I assume they were rushing because they were prepping other things for SEMA.

It's not exactly an easy process to remove the header on these cars... especially when you have a bad back. I'm really pissed I have to take this thing off and bring it back in.
