Looking for Header Ceramic Coating in Los Angeles area!

I am looking for a local shop in the Los Angeles area to do Ceramic Coating on a UEL Header and Overpipe.

Looking for recommendations, referrals or a quote.

I don't mind getting feedbacks on why I shouldn't get it. I don't plan to track but I do drive avg 30k miles a year, avg 2-3hrs commute daily.

I am also pretty handy and don't mind any DIY Ceramic Coating recommendations.

Sorry, i don't want to wrap.

Thanks!

Pacific Coast Powder Coating in Palmdale did my header for $150.

Whats the benefits of ceramic coating your header??

Ceramic coating functions as an insulator, so it will keep your engine bay cooler (like the stock heatshield does). But it also has a performance advantage, in that hotter gasses (like exhaust) flow faster, so a coated header theoretically expels the exhaust fumes faster away from the block.

Is this a big beneficial difference or theoretical?

Not sure, I know that on an older car like a Jaguar, it can cool the engine bay by 30%. But that's more about reliability, not performance necessarily.

Embee Performance Coatings in Santa Ana is legendary. its off the 55.

+1 for Embee. used them before and only have positive things to say about their work and customer service.

But as an alternative in the OC you can also give Black Oxide Industries a try:

I know the upside to the ceramic coating is a cooler engine bay, but doesn't that cause increaseD wear on the header itself?

No. If anything it extends the life of the header by keeping the heat in the exhaust and out of the metal, plus it protects it from corrosion.

Edit: I just noticed today that my ceramic coating is flaking off after only two weeks on the car. I am NOT happy. I've been doing this for years and this is the first time I've had this happen...

Too thin of coating or just getting too hot?

Probably improper prepping. "paint" will stick on a smooth metal surface without a good sand. The paint needs some porous surface to adhere. I got convinced to wrap the header. I am going to silicone spray and then titanium wrap over that to double up.
