If the clutch is adjusted too tight, then the TOB is being spun ALL the time, and it'll die quickly. It's only meant to spin momentarily while you push the clutch in.

You want some dead band, maybe 1/2 inch of pedal push before you feel anything happen in the clutch.

Our cars have another extra spring that makes it feel different, but you can feel when the clutch starts to engage if you slowly push the pedal.

I wanted to show everyone the latest Stage 2 Clutch Design from Exedy, which is different from their website.

Here's a few pictures I took today, in stock

Dude did you seriously have to bump every single thread in this subforum with Exedy in the title?

Tut, there is confusion regarding what is to be expected product wise, as Exedy shows a different clutch on their website.

For the sake of future documenting, until they update their website, I'm simply updating the Stage 2 referenced threads.

Omg. I have the same problem with the ACT clutch. It's driving me insane while trying to park. Any update with act with their warranty? Because I almost don't feeling like driving my car anymore because of this problem.

Just contact ACT. Every single aftermarket clutch seems to be having this issue on this platform. Even Exedy, the OEM, had to redesign their upgraded clutches.

yah i have, they told me to take it off take pictures and if need send it back for testing. but then my car will be out of commission for the duration, which sucks cause its my daily might just order a exedy updated one for the time being.

I've got the lateset Exedy 2 clutch (the 3-puck style) which isn't what SBD posted above. So far it seems good. No lockout issues ever. I only have 2 complaints.

1. I installed the lightweight flywheel when I installed the clutch. Chatter is a bit annoying. No problem with clutch in or in neutral though. It is most annoying in 5th gear it seems. Particularly when it is anywhere below 3000rpms and your foot isn't on the gas. Exedy nolonger offers their LW flywheel with their S2 clutches now IIRC.

2. When I installed the clutch I had problems with it slipping during launches (4k drops.) I lowered the clutch pedal and this issue 90% disappeared. I think I may need to lower the clutch pedal a bit more to fully cure it. IMO the clutch wasn't fully releasing/engaging at stock pedal height. Nobody I've talked to has had this problem. I have had my installation double checked by a few other techs and they don't see anything wrong. OEM throwout, pilot bearings and heavily greased.

This seems contradictory. If you had to lower the pedal, you would be limiting the overall travel. If it wasn't releasing earlier, it should definitely not be releasing after lowering it.
What process did you follow to adjust the pedal height? Did you change fluids?
