Comparing k series to f series.... Like comparing drugs to sex. Both are amazing, and both are better than boring vegtables... (Fa20)

Mike, don't get dragged down to argue at this guy's level.. he doesn't know and won't know what you're talking about or your perspective until he sees, presumably, thousands of hours of tracktime to catch up to where you're at

Dude I know how capable a f2x is. 12 years of racing I seen what I've seen bro. You think I will be debating and wasting my time if I didn't have a clue what I was talking about.

Higher displacement is always allowed. It's time attack. It's about making the fastest possible lap with very few rules (there are some, but few). It would make no sense to restrict displacement. It's not classed road racing.

But anyway, about the power... yes & no. The torque is important and so is being able to spool larger turbos faster (less lag, less time beginning to accelerate quickly). It's a balancing act though...... Too much torque can cause too much wheel spin and slow you down. You want just enough to match well with the level of grip you have. This is why some people (like Under Suzuki with his S15) sometimes go back down in displacement after going too high (initially, 2.3L SR20VET, then back down to 2.2L, I believe). BTW, the Top Fuel/Voltex S2000 I posted vids of above is also 2.2L. So, yeah... I'm not saying more torque is always better, but saying it doesn't matter is also false.

I can't make a judgment about how you specifically waste time, but I can judge you based on my e-know how about culture and automotive technical paradigms

you're way out of your league

It's actually not a HUGE list.

Inline Pro Sleeved 90mm block
Inline Pro Billet 106mm crankshaft
Carrillo Lightweight Rods
CP CNC pistons w/Calico coatings
ACL Race bearings
Inline Pro CNC Cylinder head
Inline Pro Stage twin lobe cams
Supertech valvetrain
Myers Competition race header
Kinsler 67mm ITBs
FTW Red Fuel

Peak power hits at 9800 and carries to about 10200, before it starts dropping off. 11krpm redline.

so, it sounds (literally) like it will run for a lap before you have to replace those valve springs for a 430 hp capable cam.

??? 12000+ rpm race engines last well over one lap...16000rpm street motorbike engines last for tens of thousands of miles.

Especially with titanium valves that's not unmanageable load, and springs are pretty fatigue resistant anyways.

That said, 106mm stroke + 90mm bore is a pretty serious displacement increase, but at 2L displacement that would still be around 320hp, which is firmly into race car territory for an engine of that size and mass.

I had a K20A3 and torque-wise even though the FA20 has a torque dip I prefered the FA20's low end way better. I'm sure the K20A2 feels better up top because of the extra 550 rpms of the same power spread throughout.
