Spoken like a true bench racer.
On a 8000RPM engine, I don't care about power at 3000 RPM. I'm going to be over 5000RPM the whole time.

The fact that the Prelude only catches up during braking would suggest that the S2K driver is not hard enough on the brakes

Is this really necessary? They are both great engines. I can admit there are some very fast k-series-powered cars out there, both FWD and RWD (MR-S, and now Miata)... and I'm not a FWD fan at all.

However, if you want to post videos...

This is highly debatable considering the fact that most 4 cylinder + turbo time attack cars who do well all tend to go for extra displacement (2.2 - 2.5L) to get the right amount of torque.

I do however somewhat agree if you refer to FR cars with V8s, as that much torque can be more of a problem than a help... you don't see many V8 240sx/Miatas/RX7s etc. keeping up with turbo 4 cylinder/rotary versions of those same cars, usually.

Then again, Danny George just placed highly in his V8 Miata at a time attack the other day... I believe 3rd in RWD Unlimited.... 1st going to a Corvette. haha.

what? where was this?

BTW, I've seen MANY people say that built engine vs built engine the K series has improvements over the F series, so this guy isn't totally full of it like you guys are trying to claim. Stock vs stock & built vs built are two different things though...

Pretty sure they go for higher displacement when it's allowed because higher displacement equals more power all else equal, no? Squeezing the max displacement out of a block is an extremely mass-effective way of adding power.
