it has been pretty windy lately and at freeway speeds, I see the hood bouncing up and down lol. at first, I was pretty paranoid but it's normal with how light the hood is. only downside is that now I have a lot of sand in my engine bay

just FYI - 'high rate of speed' refers to acceleration, not 'high speed'.

What? Water always gets inside the hood. It isn't supposed to be waterproof. If your HID went out either the HID itself was bad/burnt out on its own, or if it was due to water damage it has nothing to do with the hood, and everything to do with a bad HID assembly.

Ohh I didn't know that.. But im sure all that water cant be good for the stuff under the hood.

My hood flutters a noticeable amount at 60-70 mph on the interstate. It bugs the crap out of me. My 30+ year old sports cars don't even do that.

Mine too, I didn't notice my hood moved while doing 132.....

MAybe I was too focused?

I never noticed it & I usually drive between 70-80 on interstate.

The hood is there to protect your engine from dirt and rocks and meddling children. Everything in the engine bay is waterproof, and everything gets soaked when you drive in the rain. Water comes in through the front grille, and it gets splashed up by the front tires. The water seeping around your hood gap is about 1% of the water that's getting in there.

The hoods on most cars move but the edges on these are in a more noticeable position so you just see it more.

Same issue. My hood flutters at highway speeds and only gets worst at higher speeds. The gap between the hood and lights is getting larger and more noticeable when parked. Has anyone found a solution or adjustment to correct? Really prefer not to drill holes for hood pins.

Mines the same way, but then again so is my 2016 CX-5, it seems pretty damn common to cars with aluminum lightweight hoods.....

Mine started doing this on my last highway trip, but it was so bad that it actually started bobbing up and down at the back of the hood near the cowl... and actually making a noise from contact

I think I fixed it by turning the hood adjustment knobs a little bit, the hood doesnt sit perfectly flush, but it doesnt move anymore at higher speeds.

This is pretty typical for many cars. You should've seen the hood on my '07 Mustang. Anything over 90 and the hood would visibly pick up. Then, as speed climbed, the steering would get lighter and lighter...

I love my BRZ.
