Kinda offtopic-ish...

When you bring in your vehicle for a normal service do you flash your tune to stock or do you just leave it tuned? I'm running OFT+OFH atm.

They are just doing an oil change, no need to worry unless you like to worry. They won't do more work than they are paid to do.

They are going to notice the header so its kind of pointless to flash back to stock unless your going to swap out header. The tune rom is same calid as stock so they wont know any difference unless they get in the guru,s for some reason.

unless you have any engine or drivetrain issues dont bother.

Stupid question but running 94 Octane with and Ethanol content of up to E10 is ok on a 93 tune correct?

ECU/tune will cope with 10 % ethanol by adjusting fuel trims would probably handle 15 or even 20%.

As long as the fuel is over 93 octane should be fine.

I have question regarding OFT, I just want to use the OFT to remove the CEL due to O2 sensor from header. Does it require "marrying" the OFT to car? And if I "unmarry" the oft with my car, will the CEL come back on?

1. No, you do not need to marry the OFT to the car in order to access diagnostic features

2. Unmarrying the OFT from your car does not affect the manner in which DTCs are detected and reported by the ECU

To clarify what @Koa said:

1) Your OFT is "married" to the car whenever you flash a tune.
2) The OFT can clear CELs
3) However, to prevent the CEL from coming back, you must flash an OFT tune that specifically disables that CEL code.
4) To unmarry your OFT, you have to flash back to stock.

So I would actually disagree with @Koa and say that, for a long term solution, your answers are yes and yes.

Edit: If you have a CEL from an O2 sensor issue, it means you have a catless header, yes? If that's the case, you should really get a tune anyways, either through OFT or ECUtek.

You don't need to clarify anything but since you did, I applaud your contributions to solving homeboy's problem- it stands that one doesn't need to marry to the car to access and use OFT's diagnostic functions. I didn't make an assumption greater than the one presented by the OP.

So basically the OFT diagnostic function is just the same as a OBD2 reader from autozone? And it will only temporary erase the CEL until the ECU collected enough data to determine there is no CAT.

And according to kch, a long term solution will be flashing the ECU with the correct tune as well as disabling CEL from O2?

correct, oft diagnostic like other devices just clears the latched alarm.

To correct the problem you need to disable the DTC code in the ROM ie the ECU firmware, this requires you flash a changed ROM to the ECU with the DTC disabled.

The OFT tuned roms for headers have the P0420 cat efficiency code disabled.

Quick question. After plugging in my device today. It did its automatic search for updates. New software version has been found. Press OK to start installation. I click ok and now windows is asking me what program to use to open the update file. I searched for the Open Flash Tablet executable icon on my desktop. And this comes up.... any ideas?

You open flash manager is rearly old
current ver is 1.19.x

best go to the http://www.openflashtablet.com/Autom...ads/index.html site and download the current version manually and install, you will also need to update the template file from same page and maybe your tune files as well
