I personally would have trust issues with any dealer that simply swapped out the parts without investigating the root cause of the issue anyway. If they ware willing to do that then they are willing to do other shady things.

I just removed the original rotors this weekend, they had over 60k miles with Ferodo 2500 pads and I did 8 track days with them.

Jesus fucking Christ. You want to warranty a part that fail early because of non OEM parts you added to your braking system? Are you fucking kidding me? People like you who try to pull a fast one on the warranty department are part of the reason dealing with warranty issues is such a pain in the ****.
Edit: like also mentioned, you acknowledge driving hard is the issue. My car is slammed, if I do any damage to it because of being slammed, say like cracking an oil pan. I won't cry to scion about the oil pan being defective. Double edit: you also didn't give all the info in the first post. Bravo OP. Way to omit that you drive hard and run non stock parts that cause premature wear on your rotors. |

Unless you can prove everything on paper via credible sources (i.e. not the internet), and want to bring your car in, no reasonable dealership will just swap out parts based on what you are saying. Quote:

I know how you feel OP.. The stock pads and rotors suck.. I have already glazed my rotors and killed the pads by doing a couple of downhill runs. It was even worse on my miata.. I swear they almost caught fire lol anyways I plan on getting some EBC yellow pads or the Hawk HPS pads for the frs. Although I am debating about just going Hawk HP+ on both cars. I would rather chew up rotors than glaze them.

And, the reason for my shock is that they literally only have 2 days at the Glen for an instructor school (running 7/10ths at best), 6 Auto-X runs (runs, not days) and commuting (15 miles a day round trip) totaling 4,600miles in 9 months and they are destroyed. I have NEVER seen that happen and I've run much harsher pads on heavier cars with inadequate brakes. People on this forum have gotten significantly more track days and cumulative mileage out of a set than I did. That's where the real shock came from. |

Bleh you guys are being a bit overly harsh about certain things, but yes, OP should eat the cost, you have to pay to play, it's a wear item like tires, clutch, oil, coolant, etc.
I bet you're the only person in this thread to actually measure the wear on your rotors, I bet half the people in here are out of spec, myself included as I'm at 36k miles, stock pads are probably going to be dead at 50k and I've been running Carbotech XP10's at the track (4x) and AutoX (4x). But the rotors look fine and aside from looking used I doubt I could tell the difference on a new set, the wear limit after all is like 2mm or 0.1" You can probably run the rotors you have without even noticing, like I said I bet most don't actually measure and just go off of looks and are way past due that drive it hard. Again, myself included. And shame on you for thinking you could fool us and leave out critical information. Might as well have asked about warrantying the clutch and then posting videos of drag strip runs with you dumping the clutch dozens of times. |

Again, didn't say I was actually doing it, just weighing options. We're not even going to acknowledge the argument as it's completely counterproductive. |

1) take car into dealer and see if they will warranty 2) buy new rotors on your own via source of your choosing Your original proposition of just bringing in rotors is absurd, at best. -alex |

Grow up, be a man, and pay for your own damaged parts that YOU wore out prematurely. My FR-S has 19,500 miles and has been through several auto-cross events as well as back-road drives and all is well with the stock parts. |

Buys pads worth more than blank rotors
Complains aggressive pads wears out rotors
