i only changed map B.....i was on e85 at the time too, did try this on 93 as well.....e85 didnt pop as much as 93 but when it did, it was LOUD! i ended up removing the backfire map cause the car did end up using up a lot of gas on decel to where you could smell the gas clear as day. also didnt want to blow out the mufflers.....on a side note too, engine braking was decreased as everytime the car would pop, esp the super loud pops, it would feel as if you lightly pressed the gas pedal...not something i liked really....
fun? hell yea but only for a little bit of time....esp when you have a loud exhaust setup and a cop just so happens to be cruising next to you.....you see the light ahead of you turn red or as luck would have it, come up to slower moving traffic and you have to let go of the gas....talk about an awkward situation!! |

Yeah I used it while on gas and it was fun. Especially driving around in structures, or just anywhere! I can control when it pops so no need to worry about anything. If someone doesn't let you change lanes or something, just give it a little gas and it backfires and they move away from you. First gear high rpm and let off the gas has the loudest pops. Perfect to scare the poop out of people. However, while driving aggressively and at slow speeds it isnt the best. at high rpm the power comes on much more sudden than no backfire tune. Which was not the best at times. And at low speeds it felt more jerky to drive around.

lol I'm currently running Tomei UEL Header, stock over & front & mid pipe, and a Nameless Muffled Track Pipe, so I'm not that worried about my muffler packaging. Plus I'll be phasing this popping thing out with my next updated tune (currently editing the tune).
Nevertheless, the pops are insanely loud lol. As I was decelerating today, a cop actually turned his head while giving another person a ticket, and dare I say, smirked while I continued popping down the street (I want to think that the cop also owns a Subaru , but I can be wrong ). Luckily, I didn't get pulled over, so I'm all good haha.

Hey guys. Do you need to make any exhaust changes to get the crackle/popping? Also, what are changes that need to be made? I tried to change the Ignition Timing - Advance > Base Timing B > 0.15 g/rev values to -15, and nothing happened even when driving around. That was the only change I made to the RPM range. Is this correct, or am I missing a step?

Sorry didn't read all 8 pages but just wondering if there is a way to adjust the pop intensity of this. I like the idea but I would enjoy a much more refined and lesser version of it. Right now with my turbo I occasionally get one massive single pop after some spoolage and then immediately foot completely off the pedal. But I would like to incorporate some of these decel pops just at a 25% as intense level.

This stuff not my thing but pops due to ignighting unburnt fuel in exhaust so if yo give it less fuel should reduce intensity where they have put 10.7 afr on overun low load try like 13 or 14 afr going to be trial an error |

Going to relay some of this to my tuner. Thanks. I like the general idea of this but I don't want to sound like a damn ricer or anything. I like the factory pops that some of these modern expensive V8's are tuned with. I think a fine tuned dumbed down version of the videos that the original post had would be decent. I'd be fine with one or two pops on decel or a few small pops at most. I wonder if you can tune it for only doing these pops on decel after running the RPM's past a certain point, like 4000rpm for example. Maybe it can not do it at all during normal traffic <4000rpm. Just thinking out loud.
