Seems like I've set my absolute price cap quite high. I won't be buying it the GTS is a cent over $46k. Having said that, anything over 43k and I'll be trying to talk them down to at least 43k.
If it happens to be over 46k, I will be looking to buy a second hand 370GT for around 40k

My price ceiling is about 41 or 42K drive away for GTS.
I know this is a RWD coupe but I still can't justify paying more for this than a Subaru WRX which is about 44k drive away.\

I'm really really interested to see how Subaru price the BRZ, surely it cannot be more than a WRX. No chance in hell.
Interesting that Subaru also haven't

I'm also interested in finding out how much insurance will be for this car.
I still pay $1600 for a 2002 Honda Integra! I can't seem to find a better quote.

Toyota have to be thinking long and hard about this.....Subaru must be waiting with baited breath. If Toyota push anything above $40,000 Subaru will sell more WRX,s than they can get there hands on.

The golden opportunity for Toyota is if they don't get too greedy they will have a mountain of people not only buying the 86 but also getting their cars serviced, extra warrantee, accessories, tint, wheels, finance and the list goes on and on.

On the other hand if they do get greedy on a few thousand dollars here and there on the 86 the will loose so much........

This is a generation of customers that pretty much left Toyota in 2006. Just one stroke of a pen and they could get them all back in droves!

Good luck Toyota..... balls in your court.

LOL! yeah, this might sound a little weird...Still with parents (so they pay the house and stuff, i contribute and give my parents 150bucks each month as a "thanks for looking after me"), besides that ever since i saw the very first prototype for this car (@AIMS) where they were going to dub it the new Celica. I've been curious till just mid last year i started to save like mad. which i worked up to get 15k by June + Sell the current car then loan the rest = Toyota GTS 86 (hopefully).

Trade in your arm and a leg

I just laughed at that their main demographic was 35+ earning 150k a year rofl...

I hope you're right mate! god, if it goes any higher, i'll reorder for next year or get something else. But Nissan and Honda ain't doing much now a days. i missed the Type Rs, S2000s and the Silvias (S series).

This seems like a poor decision given your circumstances....

$40k limit for manual GTS sounds about right.

pretty sure you guys would have heard about the mazda and alfa collaboration...

it'll be at least 2 years till we see this though. let's hope we get an alfa design and mazda reliability - not the other way around
