Removed undertray, now rubbing above 60 mph?

Was working on my car and removed the front metal undertray and the fabric one below the transmission.

I am planning some more work on the car soon so I left them off for now.

Thing is when I go above 60mph I get this awful sound of flapping/rubbing. The faster I go the worse it gets, I didn't even go over 65 because it sounds so bad.

It sounds like a fender liner or some type of plastic is flapping in the wind and rubbing on either the asphalt or some part of the car.

When I stop and look over the car I can't see any evidence of anything rubbing or dragging on the ground.

Anyone know what I should be looking for?

Not sure either, but I experienced the same thing when I drove two weeks without that undertray. Anything under heavy acceleration caused a massive flapping sound.

Are you sure its not the air getting trapped under there making the flapping sound?

There is one piece that shares two bolts with the fiber piece. If you didn't reinstall those and didn't take a piece off that went to the year wheels, I'd guess this is what you hear flapping.

At least, it's there on my BRZ, suppose it may not always be there on all models.

I drove without my undertray when I installed my header so I could tighten the bolts after a heat cycle easier.

One of the plastic bits folded on itself after I hit 70 and started dragging on the ground.

There are a few things you want to ziptie or otherwise secure if you plan on running without the undertray. This was 2 years ago so I couldn't tell you exactly, but it should be easy to spot what needs to be checked

IIRC, there is a wheel well liner that is secured with the bolts for the metal under tray. That was probably what was flapping.

It's the drivers side tray behind the fiber cover. It makes a helluva racket and the longer you drive it the lower the speed you'll need to make it flap. Stick a bolt in the single hole until you get the bottom put back on
