Does the 0805 or 0806 need to be wired? Can you just download to your computer later on/when you want to clear memory space?

The HKS DMR has front & rear cameras, records/saves files to a SD card, records audio, has GPS, and a G-force meter. Files are saved as standard MP4s so you can play them back on anything, but if you play them back through the HKS viewer software you can monitor speed, location through Google Maps, and G-forces with the videos.

The 0805 and 0806 can be charged using a simple usb car charger it automatically starts when you turn your car on. And it uses a memory card or it's built in memory.

Nice. Do you have to manually clear the memory, or does it automatically record over?

there are options you can set. you obviously want it in loop recording mode so it overwrites the oldest file once you hit your max memory. the 0806 supports up to 256gb; it has two card slots supporting up to 128gb each. though, I have heard that there were some problems when people were using both slots. 128gb is still a lot though. you can also lock files so they don't get overwritten in case of something happening. you just press a button on the camera and it locks and saves the current file.

also, the power is connected to the mount instead of the camera. so you can just slide the camera out of the mount if you need to upload files to your computer or show the video to someone else. no need to unplug the wires or anything like that. however, the internal battery is small so you'll probably only get like 5 or 10 minutes of usage before it dies.

So basically you have to wire into the headliner and down to a power source?

it comes with a car charger so you can plug it into your glove box socket. then just run the wire out of the glovebox into the a-pillar and up into the head liner. then drop it out above the rear-view and into the mount. or you can hardwire it with an add-a-circuit into an accessory fuse.

It's really alright, it's a car forum, it appears some folks are at the wrong place and looking to scrap.

I just bought a cheap one off of HSN couple days ago and will waiting for it to come in. Cyclops 1080P I believe it was called for I think $59. Not expecting much, but thought would give it a try after I was ran off the road the other day with a guy changing lanes pulling a trailer, he never noticed I was next to his trailer in the fast lane, but he came on over anyway.

OP needs a proper parking mode if it's to work with the car powdered off. It has to be hard wired, not using the accessory plugs, which have no power with the vehicle off.

There are only a handful that do this well.

A low battery cutoff is also recommended so the battery doesn't drain too much.

If its only for while driving, lots more options. If its G-sensor and super sensitive to movement and records at least 5 seconds before movement that might work too.
