The only way to say X part is better than Y part, or X part is a better bang for buck compared to Y part is to see which one performs better, hence why people like to know how much power each part made, how did it fit, how's quality etc. etc..

Are they using 16 gauge tubing in the header? Isn't that thinner than what most people use for the rest of the exhaust bits?

I've talked to more than a few different vendors that all claim their tune/exhaust/header/intake always make more power than the competitors. Quote:

Yeah - I did read it. But I that's just lead over to my second question - which is actually just a lead in to ask - isn't 16 gauge too thin for a header or is that normal?
I'm kinda a newbie to header construction. Be nice.

from what i can tell there is no piece to allow flex like most other headers, do we know if that's a problem or did everyone else just put it there just in case?

Hi guys, I have been running a PPE header for 2 years now or close to it. I can tell you this, with out a doubt its the best header I have found and believe me I have tried a few. Another thing to remember is customer service. My first header had a ceramic coating failure it wasnt bad but it started to bubble up. No questions asked they took care of me. Then I hooked up with Bill at delicous tuning and the power started building fast. The battle between Fiebruz and I started and when both cars had interior and were equally prepped I went 3 10ths faster than they could.13.58 et and I was the first to break 100mph in the 1/4 now Im at 101.83mph. The car runs a PPE header, Delicious tuning flex fuel E85 tune and a airaid intake thats it for engine mods the rest is bone stock n/a. As far as hp I am over 200hp at the wheel. I will show and tell more in a few weeks as I am planning to head back to the track and give everyone something they cant deny lol. I will post ahead of time the track and date I will be running at and you can stop in if your close by and check it out. Its either going to be in Pheonix or Fontana in May. Come on out check out the car ask questions I will help everyone anyway I can. Peace

When you build a header in a jig and weld it their is going to be some warpage and their is really nothing you can do about it. Its a small amout but just enough to sometimes make a header snug fitting. Some companies use flex joints to combat that. Personally I would steer away from flexible headers as I believe it is a potential fail point. When you bolt your header on its not going to move its solid and stationary to the engine. Why would you need a flex point if thats the case????? I dont know everything but thats my 2 cents anyway....... |

Oh one more thing everyone they make different styles of this header.
If you are serious about max power get the merge collector it works awesome and builds more power. |
