LOL, sorry guys for the lack of updates. We made some changes to the turbo kit last minute, so the car has been down for a few weeks. Also, we have our annual Boost For The Cure event coming up, and the brakes on our dyno are shot! So that's been down while we get it repaired. Once the dyno is fixed, it's going back on. Currently still making 380whp 400wtq with the 5858 on completely stock fuel system. There is still some room left to go. We are also building a complete Ecoboost long block. Once that is complete, we are going to push the limits of the stock block. When it pops, we are throwing our built engine in, and turning it up even more. I promise to keep you posted as we get close to that.

Even I find it weird that I'm interested in this thread. I would never buy a mustang. I just love seeing the procedure and results. Keep up the great work guys.

this could be an interesting swap (not into an 86, dont kill me!) if it proves to have decent reliability.

I agree. We have never been huge mustang fans here either, but this car has been surprisingly fun! And I must say this might be my favorite version of the Mustang (besides maybe the late 60's and 03-04 Cobra).

Dyno is fixed, and the Mustang is back on for some more tuning! Sorry if you don't have FB, only video I have at the moment as my tuner posted it up.

Ok, well, finally, we are just about to wrap up our turbo kit. It has officially been released and taking pre orders. We are going to shoot for the record stock block power today which I believe stands at 420whp, but we might just do that for corny bragging rights. Our provided tune will most likely keep it around 400/400 for reliability reasons. Here is a dyno of our turbo kit, compared to our complete stage 1 package (intake, downpipe, cat back, intercooler, and tune) Both runs are on 93 oct pump gas. The car is still on the factory fuel system as well. As you can see below, there is no question that the stock turbo makes much more low end grunt, but does fall off up top. That is where the 5858 takes over. These runs were done on a journal bearing 5858. I would imagine a BB could see up to 400rpm quicker spool. Sorry, the stock turbo run is kind of hard to see due to the lighter lines, but hopefully you can get the idea.

Here is another run from this morning that I took with the old cellular telephone. This one you can see RPM a little better.

Any plans for ethanol before you blow up the stock block?

I am not sure. According to my tuner, the stock fuel system still had some head room left in it. We just ordered a BB 6266 yesterday, and we are going to throw that on the stock block and see how it likes it. We may throw in C16 or something...
