Glad it was something simple and that there was no incidents where an airbag would have been needed.

I've got a netbook running 32 bit Windows 7. Should the drivers just install automagically?

Still waiting on the cable but I'm installing the 8.10.021 software right now so I'll be ready to go.

Well I just got the cable, ran Windows 7 32-bit, drivers installed after awhile automatically. Installed 8.10 TS. Tried to connect and it wouldn't. Not sure where to go from here.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Update:
Uninstalled/Reinstalled Techstream. Opened Techstream. Closed Techstream. Opened Techstream, set configuration to North America. Copy pasted the serial key from the text file. Closed Techstream.

Installed MVCI driver 2.0.1.

https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=75C93...49501E9A%21141

Then reopened Techstream after plugging in the cable from car to laptop.
*My laptop was plugged into the car, charging it, if that helps anyone.*

I then hit "Connect to Vehicle" and it was successful and I was able to tweak things from there.
The LED color was RED when it was working and connecting properly.

The key was reading perfectly fine in the ON position with both the engine running and not running.

Hey guys "long time, first time"

So, i finally got Techstream to work with one of my old XP Windows 32bit laptop from 2002.

My question is, I used the software to reduce the delay of the "auto" head light auto off when the door is open, to 0 seconds, but this doesnt work when the head light is set to the "on" position. Is there any way to get it to auto off the "on" headlights? I like driving with my headlights during the day (especially when it rains here in South Florida, so many people would rather put their hazards on then just turning on their headlights.). Ive gotten so used to my Tacoma auto turning off the "on" headlights. BTW, i changed the light threshold to "Light2"

I am also not above placing a piece of black tape over the light sensor to fool the system into always leaving the "auto" headlights on when driving during the day. Would there be a problem with this? Where is the light sensor? There is a bubble sensor on the right side of the dash and a indentation divit sensor on the left side.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but its best to keep all the related information together.

I cant help you out with the tech stream question but the light sensor is the bubble on the dash, just put a piece or cardboard over it to try it just remember there is delay to stop the lights flickering on and off in marginal conditions. I don't see any problem putting tape over it as it will just simulate night.
