You got it, with iOS you will have to use a wifi one and get those extended pid's to add it. You will still have to manually add the gauge, chart, or whatever format you are displaying it as to the dashboard.

Make sure you buy a dongle that is compatible with Crapple. I bought an actual ScanTool and found out after it arrived that since it uses an industry standard BlueTooth protocol, Crapple won't communicate with it. Buy the cheapest Chinese ripoff and you should be fine.

It creates wifi in the car. But not Internet. Wifi is simply a local wireless network. Thus allowing ur car to stream data to ur phone while inside the car.

If you use an iPhone or iPad and want to be able to see oil temp gauge using dash command PLEASE go to the developers Dash Commnd forum and add you voice to the request thread here.

http://www.palmerperformance.com/for...pic=6351.0;all

They are looking at adding Toyota/Subaru specific sets of data but also other makes. The more of us that request either being able to add specific PIDs or a Toyota/Subaru set the more likely we get to the front of the queue for development.

Also a good idea to write an app review of Dash Command and tell them you have voted it down due to no oil temp for the 86 or BRZ.

Let's get the FT86 Club to put the pressure on their development team! 86ers are go!

.
I have dash Command, and bot those PIDs are there. I would like to see oil pressure added. It is kind of important.

Unfortunately I don't think our cars have oil pressure sensors so you'd need to add a sensor too.

Not 100% sure of this though

The car has an oil pressure switch for the idiot light in the dash that only comes on when the pressure reaches some ridiculously low number like 3 psi. That switch does not give an actual oil pressure, only an on/off signal at the rated oil pressure.

Torque and Dash Command take their data from the car's computer. You can add an oil pressure sender to the car, but there is no way to get that data from the sender into the car's computer to feed to the app. That means there is no way to add oil pressure to Torque or Dash Command for the twins.

What you can do instead is install a separate oil pressure gauge. There are plenty of aftermarket options for that. There's even a handy plug already in the oil gallery on the top of the engine where you can tap in for pressure.

Those $10 Chinese knock offs in ebay have the worst reviews -they're DOA, work for a week or a month then they're kaput. I also read if you leave them plugged in all the time they'll drain your battery.

I created a skin for this, well, only changed some gauges so that oil is shown first.

Maybe some can test an report back?

Wanted to bump this since I've got an Iphone 6 laying around and also want to watch water and oil temps. Any recent reviews of a DashCommand setup for Iphone? I think I need:

- Iphone 6 mount strong/steady enough for road course use.
- DashCommand app with the FR-S PID purchased.
- The Craven wifi adapter (here).
