Well, when I installed them in the bottom hole per the instructions, the most my alignment guy could get was .4 neg each side. Nowhere near the 1.75 claimed on the packaging. Based on this, I'd recommend keeping them in the top hole.

This may sounds dumb, but did he turn the bolt? Or did he just pop it in and tighten it?

this. And, did he know that you wanted negative camber? 9/10 places freak/try and tell you negative camber is horrible and evil.

What?! You mean camber doesn't eat my tires or cause accidents?! He might have been trying to put the camber back to factory (ish) specs.

There was a time when I didn't live near a "performance alignment" place and I would have to go to about 4 places before I found somewhere that would set alignment to what I wanted.

Most of the time I got the, "OH NO! You don't want negative camber!!! It'll eat your tires up! The specs in the computer are the best, and thats what we set the car to."

SMH...on to the next shop haha.

Haha yeah I had that issue too. 'Nope we cant do that', the OEM specs are so broad also. A friend of mine works at an Acura dealership and gave me a half decent alignment. Not perfect (need LCA in the rear), but better than it was before lol

oh come on, whats wrong with +/- a degree or two? lol

As long as its in the "green" right?

Its pretty bad how, uh, bad an alignment can be while still "passing". I get for most people it doesnt matter all that much, but still...

Agreed, I'm upset that my rear camber is off by 0.34* between either side

Easy way to find a good alignment shop... ask if you can sit in the car while they do the alignment. If they refuse, or suggest against it, you want no part of that.

Go with half a tank of gas, and sit in the drivers seat.

I've used this shop before for other vehicles with custom alignment settings, and they've always been willing to accommodate. I watched as he rotated the bolts completely around, and the camber hardly moved. He got the toe in front and back better than it was, so the alignment wasn't a total loss, but certainly not what I'd hoped for. I might swap the bolts around this weekend and give it another shot.

Shouldn't be. Just take a wire brush and give them a once over. It should clear most of it off, then if you like hit them up with some rust inhibitor.

Did he also move the tabbed washer as he rotated the bolt? If not, he failed. The tab needs to be facing 180* from the lobe of the bolt. The instructions are really clear on this...

Well I wasn't under the car with him, but he's not some dopey UTI dropout, and has been doing alignments at this place for close to 10 years that I know of (and likely more), so I'm going to take a wild guess and assume he knows how eccentric bolts operate. And it also sounds like I'm not the only one whose experience with them in the bottom hole has been poor.
