I noticed that your stock safe maps aren't the same here as what you showed in this thread. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29679 . They are slightly different. I've been tweaking the VVT for the last few days, and it's gone from sad to lame. I found these threads doing a search for avcs tuning. I copied the numbers from your stock tune, (Stock_IAM1.hex)'s tables into my OFT stage 2 UEL 91 oct tune's safe maps for intake and exhaust, but I left the tune's maps alone for the normal and base tables. My car runs undeniably better. Try it yourself if you have the time to open an OFT tune, change half the cells of each table, and save it as a BRZedit-able tune. I'm glad I have an OFT and that I took a chance inputting your stock tables. Last edited by KoolBRZ; 03-26-2015 at 01:53 AM. Reason: pics |

So how do the safe angles affect normal driving?

If you're not FI or running E85, try opening your OFT OTS tune up in RR and change your tables to match mine and see how it affects your normal driving. I used to think safe tables were for normal driving and normal tables for sport button driving, but now I'm not so sure.

So safe means it's safe to crank it up, normal means it's not running the best, so here's a table that won't ping, and base means something's F----d up and this will keep it running without pinging till it can be fixed.

Pretty much, the idea being that you'd run a more conservative normal and base timing tables. I believe that even the stock tables mirror each other so they will always run the same no matter what anyway. On ECUtek they are called base, high det and low det which gives it away a bit better

Does anyone have input on AVCS settings for supercharged engines? I've been messing around with retarding both the intake and exhaust, but my IAT's with the weather change have been screwing with the results. I'm also using VDR which doesn't account for inclines and declines on the road. Thanks!

My latest AVCS tuning maps
Here are the latest AVCS tuning maps I have developed. Although they are works of art, I am sure they are wrong in any number of places. I'm opening up my work here for criticism, not my personal life, so keep it respectful. Although I developed these maps while NA, I'm still using them with a Phantom ESC. If you have any suggested changes, describe them, post pics, and I'll make the changes and try them out. If you want a tune with these changes already in them, or an xml definitions file to enable extra tables, just ask and I'll post it if I have it or if I can make it. The pics are in order; Exhaust Safe-Exhaust Normal, and Intake Safe-Intake Normal
