Stock Rom: Timing + Learn Value

Trying to asses the health of my stock engine. Is this typical/healthy:

2nd gear WOT pulls 50 deg F ambient 91 octane

Can anyone verify this? Or post a snapshot of what their timing curve looks like in an NA 86. Thanks!

Well if the lower one is the 2nd run then its adding timing still. No hint of any retarding going on.

Thanks,

have you seen a stock rom data log before? Is this the amount of timing one would expect (~24-25 max advance).

I saw in the OFT thread that a guy on 93 oct is able to run 30 deg max advance but that is with mods and tune of course.

No I've not but that's what I would expect. My car has a standard exhaust and on my tune runs about 27/28 deg max.

Ideally do 3rd gear pulls and just see how the lines change. If they stay the same or are increasing, then the engine is running well. If you see it drop in places then it's pulling timing. Small drops I wouldn't worry about. You only really need to see full ign timing values, the knock learn is there to show how much of the ignition advance table the ECU is adding.

actually, to me it looks like it pulling timing then adding some back so to me it looks like it is on the edge of knock retard, also, it looks like there are some areas where the knock is more problematic.... around 4250 and from 6 to 7 but i depends on what the tuner did with the advance map.

It's a stock map. What's the standard ign advance table like? I was just assuming that the curve is how it's setup. What you said above is true if the advance table is a flat value, but it may not be.

This is a stock ROM on 91 octane. Have you seen a stock ROM's ignition timing curve and Knock Learn Value "curve"? I am genuinely asking as I haven't.

Edit: Found this! This is stock tune too. Look at the Knock Learn Value. I guess it "undulates"?
