12 gauge ammo makes a better mess of whatever you're shooting at, and it's always easy to hit.

For us folks in Los Angeles, California, it is one of the few online stores that ship here, and they have great prices/selection too.

As far as brands go, pretty much agreed with what has been mentioned:

Winchester White box (don't get the winclean shit, some ranges ban them because of exposed lead nose...fragmentation risk, yadayada)
Sellier & Bellot
PMC Bronze
Fiocchi

Be mindful of the surplus military ammo out there. It's cheaper, but know what you are getting into before buying.
They normally are made with a harder brass and usually have crimped primers. or even crimped bullets
This isn't a huge deal, but if you reload, or sell your brass to a reloader, it is.

Primer pockets have to be swaged out and the brass is harder on your dies.

Not to mention it can be 30 or 40 years old sometimes! (At least up here so I would presume the same happens down there)
