I will not believe a single rumour even if it is the "best" of them. There is zero official fact that there will ever be a second gen much less when it would happen.
These rumours are all based on pure speculation from less than reputable blogs that think misquotes, unnamed "insiders" and quoting each other as authorities counts as journalism.
Hell there is probably one that read the post here and just released at statement saying "FT86 Forum Confirms 2nd Gen FRS to be Released in 2018".

Agreed. I think the future looks good for a revised 86, but it's still hard to say.

That's nice. It's a rumor based on life cycles and quotes from July. Stop being an elitist, you're not impressing me.

How does trying to prevent the spread of rumours make me an "elitist"?
I could really care less if you are impressed or not the fact remains that there are no official statements.

There is nothing wrong with speculation, get off my case.

It's not my problem if members are incapable to tell fact from speculation. Then again, it's astonishing how many people fail to use Google to their advantage.

I would say that the reports in July regarding the second generation are concrete. Date speculation is based off of car life cycles.

I used the word elitist because he gave the same cliche statement every other butt-plugged member on this forum uses.

Trust me, I am more than capable in reading and identifying rumors.

You are correct in there is nothing wrong with speculation, as long as it is very clear that it is exactly that speculation. Telling people to wait for the 2018 "refresh" is going above and beyond speculation and introducing it as fact.
As far as getting on your "case" goes you took my very simple statement of "Don't hold your breath" and ran with it. If you are unfamiliar with the term it means that something may happen but don't count on it.
When I tried to present my case you determined I am "elitist" and did not want to hear anymore.
I have made my point and everybody is free to pick a side but I will remain firmly in the "show me the facts" camp.
Done.

I clearly said tentative........... Do I need to bold that for you, since you feel the need to excessively bold your words.

I am still waiting on my million dollars from the Nigerian Prince I helped out. Know it is coming because there were people quoted on how they got theirs but I understand that it's arrival is tentative.

+1 on this. I work at a Toyota plant and for the past few months I've been doing some mutilation inspection jobs and that water based paint sucks rocks hard.
