HELP: Rydeen Duo and Beatsonic BU Cam Adapter

Losing my mind here, bear with me. Trying to set up my backup camera using the Beatsonic BSU52 and Rydeen ZH07-150B.

Installing the camera itself was a breeze...all the wires come together to a connector. It's the rest of the harness I'm having the issue with. Bold are the parts I need help on...

On the camera side/back of the car (Rydeen harness):
-Connector for the camera [easy]
-"reverse light power+"[assuming this goes to the hot wire on the reverse lights?][EDIT: found some info for this and the ground saying with the OEM radio I just tape these off...can anyone confirm?]
-ground [duh]

On the radio side/front of car (Rydeen harness):
-yellow RCA [duh]
-red "reverse power anode output" [connects to white wire on Beatsonic harness?]

On the radio side/in dash (Beatsonic Harness):
-inline 16-pin harness [duh]
-yellow RCA [duh]
-white wire with female bullet connector "camera power" [is this the one that attaches to the red "reverse power anode output" from the camera harness?]
-red wire "ACC" [do I really have to locate and splice into an ACC power source? really?]
-random purple wire with connector pin on the end ["for some models"]

I've got a pretty good grasp on automotive electronics but I've never played with anything like this before...

The Rydeen DUO (ZH07-150B) and Rydeen MINy models (as well as many other cameras) will work from 6V. So you could power any of those directly from the OEM radio's camera power pin, and not need to tap into +12V ACC power. You would have to cut a wire on the Beat-Sonic harness to access the 6V power signal.

For any camera that you're unsure of its minimum operating voltage, test on a TV or monitor powered from 6V (using batteries) to see if it works. Some cameras will work from a supply as low as 3.5V. Also check in low light, as some cameras were found to look OK from 6V in daylight, but had image degradation from 6V at night (and needed slightly more than 6V to work properly).

-ground [duh]

On the radio side/front of car (Rydeen harness):
-yellow RCA [duh]
-red "reverse power anode output" [connects to white wire on Beatsonic harness?] - YES

-red wire "ACC" [do I really have to locate and splice into an ACC power source? really?] - YES REALLY
-random purple wire with connector pin on the end ["for some models"] - this wire is your reverse trigger wire - this gets spliced into your reverse signal wire, then goes to radio harness - pin with connector end gets pushed into harness directly

Would any of you fine gentlemen know how to either adjust or remove the grid pattern from the backup cam display on the 2014 Bespoke head unit? Diagnostic screen doesn't look the same as the others I've seen and the diagnostic screen on my 2014 Bespoke has a "Camera Setting" button but the button is "faded"/disabled.

You can not do anything about the built in grid lines, they are not adjustable/removable. Disable the camera's built in lines. (I believe you cut the green wire to do this)

Bummer.
Green wire already cut.

No only one set of grid lines but they point down at the ground…"green" is only about 12" off the bumper, red is ON the bumper

I didn't know that any of the BeSpoke HUs generated parking guide lines. Are you sure those are coming from the HU? Try temporarily feeding it a video signal from some other source (game console, VCR, DVD player, digital camera, security cam, etc.).

On the Rydeen DUO, you cut the green loop wire to enable the camera's guide lines, or join to turn them off.

As for the HU's menu being disabled, it might require that you ground the HU's parking brake input pin. I'm not sure about 2014, but on previous years, FR-S did not have the 16-pin harness at all (thus no p. brake signal connected to HU).

Try temporarily connecting that terminal to chassis ground. Use a single strand taken from a piece of small-gauge stranded wire. Make sure you don't touch any other pins on the 16-pin socket.

that's my problem right there, I was doing the opposite, I thought cutting the wire takes the gris off...

I (and I'm sure others) would be interested to hear if grounding the HU's parking brake input pin makes that "Camera Setting" button be not grayed out.

Can you post a picture of that screen? Plus any other screens that you navigate through to reach that one (if it's not the first one you reach when you initially enter diagnostics mode).

Which pin is the parking brake input? Is it on the Beatsonic harness or on the factory harness?
