My unresonated Perrin cbe took a few K kms for it to carbon up & quieten down but it's still much louder than stock although it's a beautiful pleasant rumbly sound most of the time which adds great character to the car. The resonated version will be quieter again. The stock exhaust sounds like nothing.

Hate to bring up an old thread skidmark86, but I'm seriously considering buying a OFH/OFT combo, I already have a 2.5 perrin resonated CBE.

My question is did your exhaust get any quieter after youve broken in your exhaust? Anyone else have a perrin resonated cbe/ofh combo that want to chime in?

I have this setup, OFH/OFT + Perrin OP + 2.5 resonated CBE, had everything installed at one time so cannot compare to OFH + stock vs OFH + Perrin. Yes, the exhaust got a little quieter after a couple of weeks, but, it really wasn't all that loud from the beginning, except at cold start, when it is loud but a blip of the throttle quiets it down right away.

Generally, I'm sensitive to loud exhausts which is why went with the Perrin 2.5 and this is definitely NOT a loud setup. Seems just right to me. I so satisfied I finally tossed the stock exhaust.

Not a problem resurrecting the dead.

I actually ended up selling the FRS probably a month after this thread for a 2015 WRX.

I drove it with the cbe plus OFH for about a month, and it did tone down a little bit. At the end of the day I really wasn't a huge fan. I think that just has to do with my personal tolerance for exhaust noise. I loved the sound when I was opening it up, but it didn't really do it for me as a daily drive set up. I did get to drive with the stock header and perrin 2.5 and loved the sound of the cbe. For me personally, both components sounded great separately when the other piece was stock.

P.S. - If you're looking for a good deal on the OFH/OFT PM me. I still have both components sitting around my house.
