ive reinstalled it as admin and now. cleared c++ installs and re did them i can figure why it keeps doing this. Here is a pic of the error i get when i try to open it. Maybe some of the software developers can make sense of it

Sometimes odd mixes of things not fully installed can cause problems. Be sure you have the latest from the OpenFlash site (try viewing in private viewing mode/incognito to force it to ignore cached versions...) and as someone else mentioned, try uninstalling the MS libraries, reboot, then re-install.

bummer! I also have the 64bit versions both of 7 and 8, though neither of mine are "Ultimate" - I doubt that's it though.

Unfortunately, that may suggest your SSD is starting to go. While an outside chance, it's there. It could be some other piece of hardware on the fritz - memory needing to be re-seated (if that's even possible) or something. I'm chasing the hardest to clearly identify, and there's no easy way to look into this kind of thing if you don't have extra hardware around, tools, etc.

Hopefully it's something far less miserable.

I did some searching on that error and the only thing that I found that might be useful is to try to reinstall the .NET framework. I saw some info where others indicated that was causing the issue. Worth a shot I guess if you've already tried everything else.

Whatever it is, MS was responsible.

Macrium Reflect. All of 15 minutes go from my current OS to a virgin install of Windows and back.
