Do you get more than two maps when you get set up for flex fuel?

The whole point of flex fuel is to do away with the hassle of multiple maps.

Bah, I said that wrong I think - or I misunderstood completely how it works. It swaps tables, right? How many table variations do you get? (I won't be running e85 since I AutoX, just curious.) Though we're probably in the wrong thread now.

Umm, that is exactly what it's doing.

Yeah, not impossible but if you know a decent amount about tuning, you'll probably know that it is a waste of time unless using flex fuel setup.

Also, higher e is hardly as detrimental as no e and excess timing, to a certain degree of course but it can run leaner and less det prone whilst doing so.

Flexfuel setups dynamically adjust to the exact octane in your tank. No multiple maps- sensor analyzes fuel mixture and alters timing/fuel accordingly.. of course many different approaches but the point is, that kind of dynamism is not offered in non-flex sensor setups

Opens up a whole new world of possibilities on how to approach running multiple fuels on your rig. $1000-1600+ depending on the exact setup, but it's the only thing I would consider for serious builds or those who switch fuels often (more than a couple times a month)

The higher the HP/loads the engine sees, the more important it is to have a tune and sensor setup capable of accounting for significant variances in anticipated fuel composition

Flex fuel is really just a pump gas tune and an e85 tune put together. The flex fuel sensor determines where the current fuel mix will fall between the two tunes of the individual maps in the tune. The custom maps in ECUTEK fill in the gaps between the two tunes and use a blend of the two to get the correct settings for the fuel mix you are using. You could make your own tunes by figuring out where your mix of fuel falls between the two tunes (pump and e85). It will require you to do some math and an extra flash between but it could be done so you don't have high fuel trims.

That is definitely on the short-term To Do list
Any word on an ETA? I know this was posted back at the beginning of March, so just wondering where things stand as we enter May?
