Edited 1st post to add the crash "Video". I had to pull screenshots with a different video player and compile them with Movie Maker running at .05 sec's per frame.

The best thing is you're here to post about it. Thinking about getting another 86?

Man it is so refreshing to read "I screwed up while performing my hazardous hobby and wrecked my car but got a new one" instead of "these cars are crap and it should not have happened because I am perfect and what other kind of car should I buy that is better"!
Very glad you are OK and congrats on the new one.
Thanks for sharing.

I truly feel they've lost their original vision to help current and former vets with insurance and banking needs and just a money gorger like the rest of them. Stay aware!

Most importantly, glad to hear you're OK and everything worked out OP!
I had a similar experience with USAA. I have ZERO tickets or claims of any kind for the past 20 years, yet I was able to get much better rates through State Farm. I still bank with USAA (15 years now) but they don't provide any of my insurance coverage.

When I called to cancel my policies, the CSR asked if they could try to match the State Farm rates. The rates were so disimilar I refused...I was honestly insulted by how much more I had been being charged by USAA.

Glad they paid off your vehicle OP, and no one could ever doubt how much you love the 86!

I'm glad you're OK. However I bet your insurance rate will soar. After all, they do have to recover their costs. Unfortunately, if you need to drive on a daily basis you'll probably need to cut your risks and find a new hobby. Maybe just get into mostly cosmetic modification.

Not that I don't support people getting into motorsports, but it's the frequency of incidents like this that makes this car expensive to insure. The most trackable mass market car will have a higher incidence of writeoffs.

Getting track insurance is probably the best route in the long run

@TEWwild, it's hard to tell from the video, but when you went off, if you had just gone straight instead of trying to recover, would you have had a better outcome?
