Someone posted about it a long time ago, I believe they said it was something like 3 or 2 psi. Ridiculously low.

is there a way to buy one with a better sensor? Like 10 psi or something that would indicate trouble at idle? That seems pointless.

I went with AEM failsafe. Not really for the failsafe but for the dual gauge AFR and boost. I also went with the innovate MTX oil pressure/oil temp gauge. Again for the dual gauge. I hate gauges honestly and there isnt the best mounting locations in this car that are affordable. Therefore 2 dual gauges was perfect for my setup. Ill be installing next week and will post up pics. Oh and the P3cars gauge looks nice but for me it was a definite no go. I am a strong believer that you need to see all these things at all times. So for me it wouldnt work to have to switch between different settings. If something catastophic is going to happen you dont have time to switch between gauges to see whats going on. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know that I can remember anyone seeing it ever come on or them having a oil pressure gauge to know at what PSI it lights up at either. @Dave-ROR was doing alot of oil pressure testing. Should be easy enough to pull it off the motor and put it in a pressure vessel to test it. See what signal it puts out and what thread pattern it is and then find an aftermarket low oil pressure switch that matches.

Oh crap I knew you had the AEM but didnt know you had the innovate. I honestly thought I was going to be the first. Thanks for raining on my parade. Lmao I really liked your mounting but when I asked about it he told me 6 weeks. needless to say couldnt do that lol. I ended up getting the defrost vent gauge but a dual it actually looks really clean and does obscure vision like the A-pillar.

Just stay away from the cheapest of the cheap: Prosport, Glow Shift, vatuzone specials, etc.

Completely agree. Had Prosport in m Legacy GT (matched PERFECTLY) and they weren't good for anything but looking good.

I'd really like the SPA Technique Dual Gauges (specifically the model DG 213 Pressure/temp one).... Kind of expensive at ~$350, but I can't think of a better value gauge for oil pressure and temp reading on the market (0.1 psi resolution with a vacuum to 232psi range, programmable alarms, callback function of peak readings, programmable outputs, comes with all sensors, etc...)

Damned difficult. Figure out how much your engine is worth to you. It sounds like false economy to be concerned enough about a pressure or temp reading to get a meter, but not enough to spend the coin to ensure accuracy. It's like putting an engine together with an off-brand $40 clicker torque wrench.

That's the gauge package in my 60hp three banger minitruck. I beat the hell out of it so I watch my meters.

My old Skyline.

If you care enough to ask a gauge a question, make sure it can give you an unquestioned truthful answer.

Defi and Greddy are my go to. I've never used AEM so I have to defer to those that have on how good it is. IMO the twins seem to run hot and leak oil so I would demand the minimum three pack of oil pressure and temp and water temp.

Never trust stock gauges.

I have been happy with vei in the past. Pretty sure they manufactur most of the special application vent mount gauges on the market.
