limited liability corp extends far past liability when sued. An LLC primarily exists to be a more dynamic choice for multi partner small businesses and contain mechanisms that work to spread the ownership and equity of the firm between all owners in ways advantageous to most sole props and S corps. These owners (typically called 'members') can be people, organizations, or other LLCs and foreign entities. Most states accept single owner LLCs, however, so there's that

However, like sole props and S Corps, the LLC is a pass-through business entity that taxes all gains to the individual's 1040 section C. For better or worse, gains (profits) will be taxed at the individual level.

Had to chime in, accountancy is my thing

I was going to refute this then I remembered everyone on my dad's side of the family.

But you have probably learned to STFU when you are out cocked.

We have an engineer, cocky, recent grad, never worked a day in his life before. He was bad ass, knew how to do CFD and had a private pilot's license and even wore a leather flight jacket and rayban aviators. Since he can take off and land a Cessna 172, he was even telling a test pilot (50+ years of flying) how to do things and how he can do it better. We don't take him along to flight test programs anymore besides driving everyone nuts, he was even useless as ballast because he would get motion sick even in a car if he couldn't see out the window.

Like I tell the newbie engineers we get occasionally "it must be disappointing to go through all that schooling and then realize they don't put cabooses on the end of trains anymore...but you can still wear the cool hat if you want." 😄

UMMMM ... engineers had nothing to do with cabooses (except back the train into them I suppose). The caboose was for the train's switch crew and conductor.

How much do you Auto X? You know about VCMC? My knowledge may be a bit out of date, and I didn't know them personally, but a couple guys there run (ran?) the (formerly?) fastest A Mod in North America. Aero played a huge role. Might try getting in touch with that club if you haven't already.

What shops are you familiar with?

I also know a guy in Burnaby that did carbon fiber fabrication, but he's busy turboing a sport bike at the moment.

As a engineer myself its kinda hard not to be cocky at least in college but once in real world I quickly learned I don't know shit

I wear the title "design engineer", but didn't graduate as an engineer, I worked up from a draftsman. It keeps me humble.
