"swan neck", is definitely the way to go, for the pylon design.

The Swan Neck statement was a sarcastic remark regarding how the cantilevered wing design being proposed is going to apply downforce to the entire car...which it can't. |

I say go for it, if you don't succeed then go back to the drawing board. In the USA you can form an LLC. online and you're on your way. People will definitely learn if you have a good product or not. Take the criticism you will get it and prepare for the consequences if all goes wrong.If you have the time patience and money I say give it a whirl. Good luck

Also, for what it's worth, I know one of the UBC FSAE alumni ended up working for Ferrari's F1 team.
UBC's engineering department is pretty solid. Makes me wonder what the final results of this wing will be. And he has mentioned a physical testing plan he will be working on once he has a prototype.

OP;
Don't give up. But also, don't go around making sweeping statements about things that you have yet to fully understand. The engineer that taught me much of what I know would have not even have discussed tech stuff with you because you already have all the answers. The 1st step in learning is realizing that you don't know. Suggested reading as a primer....The entire Caroll Smith series of books, Smokey Yunick's Power Secrets, and to learn about driving, The Technique Of Motor Racing by Piero Taruffi. The last one is a bit old school but has alot of good info about driving fast on public streets E.G."Millie Milia". You will find as you re-read them over the years you will begin to understand things that you missed the 1st time around. Best of luck! |

the guy keeps talking about knowledge this, knowlege that..
when the real secret is being able to learn. He'll learn, or have a terrible time and burn out. Either way, I got my popcorn ready |
