Lol Louisiana. Gotcha. Thanks! I wanted to replace my mirrors for the blue ones. I think I'll get one!

I think a lot of people are confusing the tinting for being responsible for reducing glare, when it's really the convex shape more than anything. The wider angle makes things look farther away, so that light source is less focused on your eyeball because it is now smaller...same as if it was farther away then got closer....dim...bright. Making the light reflected blue or yellow or any other color doesn't magically "reduce glare", that's just marketing hype.

I don't have a BRZ, so I don't have heated mirrors, but they're just a replacement for the existing mirror with the glass just being different, so I don't think it would be an issue, nor have I heard anyone ever complain about it.

The rexpeeds are polarized as well as being wide angle which helps a ton.

Agreed on the color not doing much if anything for the glare though.

Polarizing I can see as making a difference, although I'm curious how that all works since polarizing is intended to eliminate reflections, and a mirror is intended to reflect.

I was and still am curious on that one too. But from what I can see it takes a crash course in the physics behind light waves and how they react to mirrors vs reflective objects (Hood of car, water, etc..) to understand most of what google showed me.

Would I be able to simply tint my mirrors using yellow Laminx and get the same effect? I'm unsure if there is some sort of special polarization to those mirrors.

Has any one done this before?

-Thanks
Rexspeed makes a complete replacement, OEM-fit mirror that you can get for your car. I'm not sure if you can get them in yellow, but I personally have them in blue and I love them

Are http://www.rexpeed.net/2012/en/produ...php?serial=335 the same as the ones from SpeedFactory?

I'm just curious because they're a little cheaper.

I used to be driven crazy by glare on my 2001 Impreza 2.5RS. It was because my mirrors were badly adjusted. Once I adjusted the side mirrors to look at the lanes to my left and right instead of catching the cars behind me, the glare went away. I also don't regularly drive in congested areas like Seattle, though.

For cars without factory heated mirrors, anyone know if attaching two wires with spade connectors on the mirror and connecting to a switch with power/run inline with the defroster button work?
Or is it more complicated than that?

Look to be the version without the heating element

I tried all sorts of adjusting. Unfortunately we've pretty much got truck mirrors on a sports car so glare is going to be inevitable. Especially in populated areas or multi lane roadways.

You'd have to run the wires through the door and what not which is a bitch to do in and of itself. And I'm not guaranteeing it would work but I don't see why it wouldn't if done right. I wonder if the wiring diagram in my service manual shows that info.

Has anyone ever tried the Speedline mirrors?

http://www.phasteksport.com/FR-S-BRZ...rz-mirrors.htm

I am planning to upgrade to these for their turn signal and defroster, but I have not heard any reviews. Is the tinting blurry? Are they good or crap?
