Mine extends past the skid plate by maybe 3-4 mm. They have a short nipple (giggidy) one as well. As someone has mentioned before, if you run over something that will hit the nozzle/valve, you will have to worry about other things breaking before the oil pan.

Get the F-108S; from what I remember the F-108N (nipple) wouldn't be ideal for our cars. Double check of course.

I bought both. I bought the s version on Amazon but they sent me the wrong one. However I bought it on Amazon us so in order to return it I need to drop if off at an ups in the States. Decided to just keep it.. Wondering if it's of any use to anyone else lol... Ended up getting the one without a nipple at all. Should be fine too.

Check with Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts. A lot of them take used oils. Or check with your local county services, they may have a place to recycle it.

I like the thought of oil drained right back into an empty container. This Fumoto valvre thingy does have me intrigued. But I'm too lazy to do my own oil changes anymore as a friend of mine owns an oil change shop.

So I did my oil change today! So damn easy! Subaru makes everything so accessible
The only thing is, the techs said it takes 5.3L but I told myself to check the manual just to do my do-diligence and it's 5.4L when you do it with the filter. Sooo just in case y'all were wondering. As well as I documented everything, receipts and what not for warranty stuffs! Thanks again for your inputs!

I would put 5 liters into the car and check for level before pouring in more oil. The 5.5 liters is only a reference. It may vary depending on each vehicle.

Bought some oil filters yesterday from Subaru and the guy asked if I wanted crush filters as well. I told him "don't the oil filters come with them already? i don't recall ever having to buy them in the past". Then I remember I had a Fumoto valve :P
Also when's the best time to check oil level? Before the car has been warmed up or after? |

Good Read
Self oil change Pro's; Around $50 ($30 oils, $20 filter) , you know your car was done correctly. Con's self labor. (ehh whatever, lol)
Take it to the shop for an oil change; around $80, you don't know if everything was done correctly, they use a recommended brand you may not agree with. I think I will rather do it my self for the 30 minutes I have to take out of my day. Fine with me. |
