What ever happened to the kit that would just allow for the turn signals to also be back up lights using switchbacks? That's what I was waiting to see.

Has anyone ran this mod with tinted tails? I was thinking of eliminating the bottom 3rd brake/ reverse lights, but unsure what the light output would be using the turns as reverse lights if the tails are tinted.
Anyone? |

Basically, when you hit your brakes, you drop a very small amount of power, less than .5V at extremely low current, on the running light circuit. This small amount of voltage does not normally affect anything in any way. The vehicle itself actually drops .2-.3V from the brake light circuit to the running light circuit when you hit your brakes. When dealing with a 12V system, this is minimal. However, we have noticed that some cheaper switchback bulbs, those that draw very little power, will think that the turn signal is triggered when that very small amount of power hits them. The module works 100% fine with the factory bulbs, and most switchbacks, including our own. We have heard of the issue about a half-dozen times, and in each case, the customer was using very low-grade switchbacks, and it was easily resolved through the use of different switchback bulbs. We will continue to make improvements to this product in order to limit any power from reaching the bulbs at all, however, while we try to design our products to work with everything out there, we cannot identify and resolve issues that exist with some switchback LED bulbs on the market when there are so many switchback designs out there. The vast majority of customers are running this module very successfully, with absolutely no problems. Many are using switchbacks with it too, including us, on our FR-S! This problem only might happen if you use this module with low-grade switchback bulbs. This product therefore may not be compatible with very low-cost switchback LEDs. We recommend the use of higher-power switchback bulbs if you want to stick with that look, or factory bulbs. Thanks! Paul Product Development

Got the kit in today and installed it... pretty easy overall. The hardest part was replacing the Flasher module... taking out the lower dash kick panel and chiseling out the factory mount proved to be the quickest route to do it, it just wasn't happening with me trying to wrestle with it cramped under the dash. Put the XP-80 bulbs in and tested it out - had to flip the passenger side one since it didn't light up on the first try. Nice and bright...I can see while backing up now!
Flashers have that weird ~1 second delay before blinking, but at least it lights up when you initiated it and then cycles like normal. Didn't do this with the factory Flasher module (but it did hyper-blink of course). Neatly zip tied the wiring runs and buttoned everything up then removed the useless factory backup light that I had temporarily mounted and protected and secured the factory harness for the back up light out of the way. Since it was a very nice sunny and 'warm' day and it's been months since I've cleaned her, I put her on the lift and cleaned out the crud in the wheel wells, suspension and brakes and rotated the tires (6 months/~5k miles with this new set and already down to below the wear bars in the rear - rears wear twice as fast as the fronts....weeeee!) then washed and waxed her. Here's a picture I took with just the reverse lights on: ![]() Really liking it - Thank you very much! Now, with the factory reverse light finally deleted, I can get on to the next task of figuring out the exhaust system!

Is there any way to turn signal light into brake light, instead of reverse light?

this will only function as brake though...not a running light. The turn signal bulb is single filament Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions: (314) 205-3033 Thanks! Nick C.
