Dear Sir,

If you aren't into the yellow, I suggest you wait for another release. Scion seems to enjoy producing a lot of release series.

Also, if sound deadening is important to you, you should definitely reconsider the RS1.0 as the TRD exhaust is louder than the standard.

I paid a hefty premium for the RS1.0, but yellow is my favorite color.

Cheers.

I love the sound of the rs1.0 exhaust!. And I am waiting for a future release. The sound deadning is for my daily highway commute
I think the yellow looks nice but it's personally to bold of a color to own for me

Maybe I won't need the deadning but I never drove or been in one past 30mpg. So we'll see lols. People exaggerate and troll to much on this forum

Maybe I'm hardcore then. I can daily pretty much any car. In fact, the more mods the better. I even DD my exige for over a year at one point until I decided to start putting less miles on it. Now I'm back to DDing the miata. Doesn't bother me one bit even with these shitty CA roads. In fact, it has helped me become a much more aware driver.

Scion releases a special edition every year. (ie: 10 Series, Monogram Series, Release Series 1.0)

It's not too hard to get a TRD quad tip exhaust. It just means you have to get the garnishes or whole new rear bumper for it. It's what I plan to do with the Monogram Series FR-S I plan to get.

I have the TRD exhaust and spend a minimum of 14 hours a week on the highway (the tales of my being on here24/7 are greatly exaggerated) and spent the first two weeks I had it pricing materials and reading the sound proofing DIYs. I guess I got used to it because I don't even notice anymore. I spend a pile of time on the hands free phone and have never had an issue hearing or being heard so it isn't as bad as some would have you think. Certainly not Lexus quite or anything like that though.

How has no one mentioned the girlfriend/significant other test yet? Just keep modding until your gf hates riding in your car with you, then take off the last mod you did. Boom, perfect, most highly modded DD allowed.

LOL so did mine. It made her car sick.

All I've done is add a spoiler, exhaust tips, fogs, and some other minor things. Nothing significant.

The only "mod" I want to do is less grippy tires.

The chassis is too good and this prius tires stick too much. I want to slide around in the dry at 25mph.. Is that too much to ask?!

edit: as for the G/F test. She can't go 10 minutes in my car without falling asleep. Something about the tint and the seats and how low she sits.. Like, I can go around a corner with all the tires at full squeal and she's out cold. I bet if I sat her in the passenger seat of a race car during an enduro she'd sleep through that too.

I have a '14 BRZ, and most of my mods have been functional with a couple of cosmetics thrown in. I drive mostly long highway miles (almost exactly 30,000 miles in 12 months of ownership). I have done no performance mods, because I really haven't felt the car needed it.

The first thing I did was add a Cusco heel/toe pedal.

The next thing I did was swap out the stock triangular knee rests for JDM padded ones for highway comfort. (Now you can get them domestically.)

Then I fabbed my own cell phone holder (seen here), because the aftermarket options were pitifully inadequate.

I also run Torque all the time on a separate dedicated phablet (seen here). Not really a "mod" per se, but still very useful.

Then it was Tom's tails and a Tapturn with strobepack. That wasn't just cosmetic. I have a recurring problem with people tailgating me in this car, and the strobes are useful in getting some of them to back off.

Then I did JDM Toyota clear side markers (with amber bulbs), just because.

Then I installed the FR-S armrest, again for highway comfort.

Then I installed a Beat-Sonic Blaid antenna, which provides no functional improvement whatsoever. Sometimes I look at it and really like it, and other times I look at it and think it looks stupid as hell. I started to remove it once but couldn't find the allen wrench, so it's still there.

I have a set of RPF1s for it, but I'm waiting until I burn down the rubber on the stock Primacy tires before swapping on the Enkeis with Michelin PSSs. That will be my first "performance" mod.

I keep threatening to put a loud exhaust on it, but then I think of how my head will ring after a five hour drive and don't.

Finally, I have everything I need to install a real oil pressure gauge on the car. I have a JP Instruments slimline digital oil pressure gauge out of a crashed Beechcraft that is almost the right size to fit in the center console where that stupid clock is currently located. With all the crap I keep reading about oil starvation and spun bearings, I really ought to make this a priority, but my Jeep project keeps taking up all my time.
Although "loud" exhaust is subjective, I have a full header-back exhaust but if you are able to keep your foot steady or have cruise control on, it doesn't drone and it still sounds nice... especially when you give it gas. I'm running an OFH, Motiv HFC FP, Motiv OP, and a Nameless 3" axleback with 5" mufflers.

The first and only real mod (so far) has been a full rip out and upgrade of the stereo. This allowed me to introduce an OEM looking reverse camera, sat nav head unit, compact 4 channel amp and replace the speakers with some nice JL's. This included the rears going up from the 3" coke can sized ones to 5.25" in some custom brackets.

The underlying desire was for it to look factory and not be a compromise by adding too much weight. This meant I could forgo the boot space eating sub and still have decent bass. Part of the install included the option of sound deadening, but I had no interest in adding 15kg worth of weight to a light car.

Looking down the line (to help with road noise) I'll be looking at better performance tires on lighter wheels (staying on 17's) and some nice quality coilovers, again for reducing noise, but also improve ride. Not looking to lower the car more than an inch (if at all).

By now you might be noticing a common theme or at least my own happy median being, to add something to improve the DD nature of the car, but in a quality way and to not mess with what makes the car great. I'm taking the good advise of simply enjoying the car and slowly improving parts to fit my needs / taste.

I also do a loooooot of reading / research so I do it right first time and am confident that I won't regret the mod later. Those 'what mod do you regret doing in hindsight' type threads are pretty awesome in this regard

I have to drive several blocks in the other direction to get out of my neighborhood now. If I were lowered, I wouldn't even be able to negotiate that alternate route because of lumps and holes over there.
Jesus! Where are you? BR and the surrounding areas are no where near that bad. And back home in north Louisiana it isn't that bad either.

Good lord I can see why pickups and suvs are so popular there.
Not all roads in Louisiana are THAT bad! lol
