thank you normal people that replied with a possible problem versus some **** comment lol. It's at RPB Toyota and they are still running tests-- nothing yet and they also are going to reflash ECU since I have been getting terribly rough idle fluctuations since I went over 100 miles -- it's a new car month old. the main tech even said that a led blinker wouldn't have caused something this serious. I was getting random alarm chimes (ie- no seatbelt sound) recently while driving. Electrical gremlins. |

The sensors are electronic not mechanical switches and the alarms will sound when a cell is plugged in and on the seat. Scared the crap outta me the first time it did it!

Have you checked the Ballasts in the HID kit? Sometimes a bad ballast can cause this issue. It did with my vehicle, but i drive a stick shift.

Had a blown fuse. Thankfully it prevented the damage from reaching the computer. I think they said it was a safety fuse for that sort of situation. I put new headlights in w/ turn signals and disconnected the lower turn signals (stock ones) as told by manufacturer, but hyper blinking started. Reconnected and... Well, uh oh.

update from dealer -- they replaced the car's computers, and they now cannot get the immobilizer to still work. they may replace that as well -- now.

I think this thread has dissuaded me from ever putting LEDs in my car.
Thanks, and good luck with yours. I hope they won't make you pay for everything. |

people need to keep in mind that incandescent bulbs are really resistors, whereas LEDs are conductors. Replacing a bulb with an LED will generally cause increased current flow (amperage) and can overload circuits and overheat conductors. Damage from replacing bulbs with LEDs is pretty common, but avoidable with a little planning and research. http://www.instructables.com/id/Choo...Use-With-LEDs/ |
