Well, it's pretty much the same thing, right? You could have gotten a better looking wife. But, you settled for the ugly one.

There may be, but this is the only car forum I'm part of.

Cool man, I'm glad that to you this is only a car. In the short month and a half that I've had ownership of my car, I've met some new, awesome people because I've started to get into modding cars. It's brought me closer to friends I already have because we've been under it and wrenching on it together. It's caused(ish) and has had a break-up happen in it. It's quickly become an important part of my life, so yeah, if people on the internet want to talk shit without knowing what it means to me or why I'm building it the way I am that might be a touch out of line.

Keep in mind, quite the difference between talking shit and an interesting discussion on why I did what I did.

Unlikely that it would be me, since I don't hang out with flatbills, but you never know. What would you do then?
If someone did say that, I'd let them know that while I value their opinion ever-so-much, it doesn't matter because every morning that I walk into my garage and see my car sitting there, I'm absolutely enthralled by the way it looks. If I wanted peoples approval of my car, and I was looking for e-peen strokes, I'd put a rocket bunny kit on my car and call it a day as that seems to be the biggest stamp of approval you can get since everyone is doing that now a days.

Out of all you said I am just gonna stop you at the first point. Having an ugly wife that was born ugly is one thing. Changing a pretty good looking chick into an ugly wife is another.
We get it you like stance, we still think its stupid. Cant believe people actually cry about this instead of making a valid point for it. (good luck on that though)

This article is exactly what comes to mind when people go out of their way to talk shit on someone else's car. Sure, constructive criticism is cool and all. But most of you guys come off as condescending assholes. Maybe it's the internet's ability to take away a jokey tone, but either way, if all you're going to bring to the table is negativity, don't even bother.

You don't like what I'm doing to my car or what other people are doing to my car? Fine, no skin off my back, but don't go out of your way to leave a post saying "lolz excessive camber is ghey, you take a bewtifull care and make it totes ugly. thats so stoopid and your just rewining the car. how can u even drive it?!?!?!?!?1111??!?!?!" Because I can probably guess that if we were just kicking it a meet, you wouldn't say something like that to me personally, let alone seek me out if I'm not by my car. Sure, you can say that I just think you're a "hater" but, in reality, something that I've put time and effort and love and hate into obviously means something to me and I'm not looking for the negativity. On the other hand, if you said something like "Hey man, like what you've done with the car. But, what's the deal with X or Y?" We could then have an intelligent conversation about why I chose to do X or Y to my car and then, everyone is happy.

To put this into another perspective, if you have a dirty pig of a wife and you post a picture of you and her on your wedding day on here, I wouldn't leave a post about how disgusting she is. I just simply wouldn't bother. Get my drift?
OK so read the article and coincidently he made the same point that I did earlier about the big tires 70s cars. He almost had me at one point.
But... the he starts going off on other groups in such a totally hypocritical manner he blows his whole "let people do what they want" argument right away. It is no less offensive to stand back and slam the critiques then it is to be criticised!

"In my observation, the largest problems in the community today center around attitudes and egos." Yes but not just those observing these cars

"The biggest and most concerning of these issues is that the voice of the car enthusiast is being drowned out by that of the scene enthusiast. Unlike car enthusiasts, scene enthusiasts don’t appreciate the hobby as a whole, they like their segment of car modification and wholly reject the ideas, and opinions of people they feel ‘don’t get it’." The pot calling the kettle black here I think

"People have become so head down and focused on what they like, and so opposed to what they don’t, that they fail to realize they wear the same brand of blinders as those of the opposite opinion." Again said against the critiques but applies to both sides

"The second, and perhaps equally troubling problem within the community today has to do with egos. The double-edged sword that is social media has grossly inflated the egos of those doing nothing more than lather, rinse, repeating what the person before them did". So unless yours is totally different being proud is just a wash your hair comparison

"The loud, boisterous, vein, obnoxious, and attention seeking are being heralded while the humble, talented, creative, true innovators are being almost completely ignored." He is referring to anybody that stands up and says that sucks in the first line and the humble, etc guys are the stance crowd.

So what it boils down to is if you are against stance and speak up and say so you are a egotistical, loud, boisterous, vein, obnoxious, and attention seeking "scene enthusiast" who's car is as good as a hair wash.

If you are a stance guy you are humble, talented, creative and a true innovator.

Sorry, Berg but this is hypocrisy at it's best. And may I remind you that we didn't come to the stance forum and start being loud, boisterous, vain, obnoxious, and attention seeking, you came here.

Having said all that I would still grab my tools and assist anybody that wanted to do anything to their car but they would have to be prepared for the non stop razzing that would accompany it and I don't feel I have to say "man that is sweet" when it is done!

People pay a bunch of money to make their cars look absolutely ridiculous and broken, hurt performance in the process, then post the pics online and get upset when people point and laugh at what they've done...

Yes, you do have the right to do what you want with your car, and everyone else has a right to their opinion of it. Comparing it to a fat wife is retarded.. unless you spent several thousand dollars to make your hot wife fat and ugly, then posted before and after pics on forums expecting praise. Then it's a valid comparison.

From a crime scene perspective, looks as though the FRS driver hit the kid on the bicycle, causing the kid to spill their drink.

Therefore, in addition to poor taste, the FRS driver is possibly guilty of vehicular homicide.

@Tcoat dave, the guy who wrote the article isn't in one camp or another. He posts a lot of different stuff on his blog, although the majority of it is stance. Not exactly sure where you're getting this hypocrisy stuff. I think you may be reading into it a bit much.

Not true at all your honor. At 12:35 last Thursday, the owner looked outside his window to see a mischievous teenage boy tampering with his car. He rushed outside to stop the boy but it was too late. His once perfectly stock and beautiful frs, had now been vandalized. The only evidence of the crime was this photo of the child's bicycle and a Styrofoam cup.

The whole thing is there will never be peace on earth the stance guys trash the stock guys, the drag guys trash the track guys, the ricers trash the drag guys, the DDs trash the ricers and the track guys trash pretty much everybody. Shit if I got pissed off at every guy on here that looks down on me because I don't track (and never will) I would rule out some otherwise great guys!
This has gone on since the beginning of time and will never end so when people make fun of whatever you are doing just smile and nod, utter profanities under your breath and walk away. The next guy may be all over you with praise.
