The whiter you go the less bright you get. With HID the brightest ones are 4300k which also got a very slight yellow tinge.

If you want brighter you could try Osram Nightbreakers. If you want white then Osram Cool Blue but they really are not as bright.

Final Q i hope :p
Noise in the cabin. Drove the car in the city centre and a quick sprint on the freeway. Didn't notice anything unbecoming but I was smiling too much and probably missed it.
Interwebs say this is a major issue and you have to deaden the sound with all kinds of things. Saw a DIY in a section on the forum. Thoughts?

Not needed at all. The whole idea behind the 86 was to bring simple, old school driving pleasure and everything that goes with it back, there is no need to try turning it into a quiet Merc.

Ive been thinking of putting in a cold air system, but not sure which works best, and what is available here in SA. Is that what you were talking about.
Heres some results that Dsport magazine performed (Internationally thou - so conditions etc will be different to SA, and especially JHB)

BLITZ intake + 6.7 WHP
AFE TakEDA intake + 6.3 WHP
Blitz filter + 6.1 WHP
AEM intake +5.8 WHP
K&N filter + 5.7 WHP
INJEN intake +5.6 WHP
AVO intake + 5.5 WHP
A'PEXi filter + 5.5 WHP
K&N intake + 4.3 WHP
TRD intake + 2.5 WHP
HKS intake + 1.5 WHP
Weapon-R intake - 0.6 WHP

To be honest the stock intake system that the 86 has is quite good, and benefits of having a cold air intake (CIA) is ....the sound, not much difference to a drop in filter if you weigh the cost vs whp

("Intake" = Cold air intake)
("Filter" = Drop in filter)

Here's some options of pricing and availability of these drop in filters:

(You can also search on youtube for DIY video's of an easy install)

Most rattles will be fixed under warranty. 86 is a stunning cruiser. My roadtest consisted of the dealer caning it down the M1 without plates with hard shifts, and warning me about the car's dynamics. As I have a babyface he was worried what I would do. He was horrified to see my drive it like an angel below the limit and generally play with the car to see if I could live with it as a daily. I even played with rev-matching.

Then I turned into the still incomplete BRT lane and blasted it down Empire Road! My mind was made up... Loved the way the car felt as a whole.

Get to work to find out, the deal is off
Car was under consignment and owner decided to take the car instead of taking the deal.
BS sales manager knew this was a possibility and kept me on a string while I could have found another solution.

Haven't been this pissed in a long time.

Might have all worked out. Spoke to my banker and finance has been approved for a high spec. Hopefully the last white 86 in JHB isn't going to be sold before COB today to someone else.

Thanks for letting me know. Will go check it out later this week.
Wasn't able to go see anything because of family commitments.
