Fender, hood and bumper were replaced, passenger door was repaired. I agree - crack prices. Just the slightest of dings to the hood and passenger door. Repair shop paid $90 to buy and replace one side marker. I could have gotten a pair for $60.

There was a long period of time when no batches came out though. Very recently more have been released so hopefully people coming in now won't have to wait that long. It also worked out for me since I ended up getting the first of the version 2's.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but anytime you disconnect the battery you should roll down the windows a bit first. Because without power the auto roll down feature isn't going to work and you could damage your windows and/or seal if you open and close the door. Also keep in mind that all your personal preferences will be deleted. Things like radio presets,
shift light and buzzer and gear indicator will have to be reset. |

So my electric supercharger broke today..
I turned on my car as usual this morning and went along my day. As I was driving and I put it into WOT the voltage meter dropped to about 23.9 (normally it drops to about 22.3 or so) but there was no wooshing sound and no feeling of acceleration. At first I thought a wire came lose but after securing all the wires it all looks OK. When I activate the supercharger it is making a sound but it sounds like it is stuck somehow. Here is a video of what's happening: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ul3hizj5tSM"]Broken? - YouTube[/ame] Also does this wire go anywhere? I saw was hanging but doesn't look like it goes anywhere. Also I don't know if this is normal behavior but the 3 wires connecting the controller to the compressor get very hot when I activate the system. Anyone else experience this? Is my ESC broken after one week . I'm really confused at what's going on since it was working fine Thursday night, I didn't touch my car Friday and now Saturday it's broken.

That wire doesn't go anywhere. It's for Rob to do diagnostics.
I think you should remove the compressor and make sure nothing is jamming it up. I remember a case where something got in there and bound it up. Don't remember the details but just make sure the compressor spins freely. It doesn't really spin freely. It has like "detents". Just make sure it's not bound up. . |

Something is very wrong here. What I noticed were the wires "dancing" on engagement. There is a short somewhere in the system. Stop testing it. This could be a fire risk.

Sent him a pm and took the system off for now. The black and blue wires connected to the compressor and controller are charred a bit not sure if that's normal. It's been doing that since day 1 though and I assumed that's normal with so much energy going through them but not sure anymore.

So not sure if people care, but I am now running an audio system on pc680 battery, aux charger, 2.0 phantom, and stock hid lights. No problems thus far. @DAEMANO did you get back your phantom yet?

About 3 weeks ago, I was the lucky recipient of Prius headbutt to my rear bumper on the 5 freeway. Soooo, after many talks with the insurance company and the auto-body shop, the car is repaired ($7k damage ($2k belonged to the CF trunk and TRD exhaust)). So, I finally got my car back on Friday. The next morning I hopped out of bed and re-installed my newly upgraded ESC. Flashed back to the Phantom ESC tune on my OFT and took it for a test drive. Drove it for another 2-3 hours since then to acclimate myself to the new hardware and gather my thoughts. Relevant stuff: 2013 - 6MT FR-S Base running on e85 OpenFlashTablet ESC e85 OTS tune TQ250-24v Aux charger 1.5x all Powersonic battery array (will upgrade to Odyssey soon) OEM ELH w/ Cat deleted TRD-USA Catback Partial Throttle Switch upgrade set to factory position 235/40/18 Dunlop Direzza DZ102 18x8.5 et45 WedsSport SA10-Rs Impressions: It's all about area under the curve. The new lighter compressor wheel, partial throttle switch, and controller software add so much mid-range punch combined with my already punchy e85/catless header setup, the feeling is now much more like the "bigger motor" feeling of a belt driven supercharger. I might be getting just a pinch more WHP/WTQ than the previous ESC but that's not what this ugprade is about. It's really about how much more power that is available in the mid-range. In linearity, it is just a hair short of a belt driven charger, so very close, but did I mention that the re-install took me about 1 hour? To compare, the power delivery of my car is much more linear and smooth than my GFs turbocharged Fiat Abarth. What this adds up to is a visceral almost hot-rod like shove in gears 1-3 anytime at I'm at part throttle above 3k RPM. I mean, the car is already fun, but something very special is happening now. In all gears part throttle results in speed, lots of it. It's freaking great. As with any powerful motor, there is a learning curve to respect, but that's part of the fun. I'd say the car has bite to match it's bark without having to crack the throttle wide-open. An unanticipated bonus is that 6th gear is now especially usable as a cruising gear. Part throttle in 6th results in a pass on the hwy. The old man in me can appreciate this. To sum it up, i've been running my Phantom ESC since last February. During that time, I've seen several upgrades as Rob continues to develop this technology. Shiv has improved his tunes and engine management software as well. There's power everywhere in the rev range that matches the growl of my gnarly exhaust. I love it. To everyone that has had to wait for their kits, I'd say this is THE version of the Phantom ESC you want from day one unless you have some mitigating factor that requires WOT activation only. I still can't believe all of this is available for so little money. Quality, simplicity, reliability, power. So fucking future. If I had to finish up with one word, I'd say, it's polish. The new kit feels extremely polished. Thanks @Robftss @Shiv@Openflash @fenton @Sojhinn @Gary in NJ @WRB5titch (for the moral support, haha) As usual, if anyone has a question or pic request, please ask. |

Update: My ESC is probably OK. Chances are one of the wires (black) is not being conductive, possibly from the buildup of carbon(?) on the connector. I'm in contact with Rob and he is advising on how to clean it up and open the serrations to increase the contact points. From my experience it sounds right since when I first got my ESC the black connector also came loose and if I recall correctly it sounds similar to how it sounds right now.
edit: also A+ on timely replies, wasn't expecting to hear back till Monday.
