That's why you go to Downtown Toyota/Subaru in Oakland. Warranty coverage and techs that know what a flat motor looks like. Lol

How about dealers in the San Francisco area, do any of y'all have suggestions around here? Mine is due for its first service as well, the maintenance light hasn't triggered on yet (only 3600 miles) but its been well over 6 months.

I go to Sunnyvale Toyota because my office is down the street. I was disappointed with the first service, technician spilled something all over my engine bay and failed to realize it. Took it back a few days later and they cleaned the entire engine, looks practically brand new.

The issue was escalated to one of their lead technicians and they apologized for the sloppy job. Also had them replace my HPFP with the latest revision, first revision back in September from Capitol Toyota didn't work.

Side note, I saw a couple of McLaren P1's driving around the service department. Not sure what the affiliation is, weird to see them at a Toyota dealership.

A good friend of mine used to work at Sunnyvale Toyota. He ended up quitting and going to another Toyota dealership partially due to how little the employees and management cared about customers and their cars. He told me about how some techs would open the car doors, hit the post on the lift, and shrug.

Oh man! Okay, maybe I'll change then. Any luck with Piercey in Milpitas?

I work for Piercey Toyota, parts department though. I can't really say how service is, because I'm still kinda new here. Employees are happy with the work. If you need a referral, I can help out. Just PM me.

Oh yeah! Said friend now works at Piercey, and he says the customer and vehicle service is way better. He says it's also a much more professional environment. They seem to place their priority on customer service.

I am bringing my BRZ there for future maintenance. I usually don't let others work on my car(s), unless I can trust them, or if I have no other choice.

I doubt you will go to Capitol Subaru, but if you were ever considering it, avoid that place. I was just there yesterday, and I had a pretty poor experience overall. Besides the poor attitude of two of the service advisors I encountered, they failed to fulfill my one request of not washing my BRZ. I had just completed a 12-hour detail and paint coating application that is very similar to Opti-Coat this past Sunday (I've run a home business detailing cars in my spare time for the past four years).

After I left with a loaner vehicle, I shortly returned because I forgot an item in my car. I came to find that my car had just got out of the detail center and was covered in swirl marks! The service advisor claimed to have written my request on top of the work order and also suggested their "detail professionals" did not see it. He tried to reassure that they would fix the damage by having them "buff it out with microfiber cloths". I don't feel comfortable having "detail professionals" work on my paint when they failed to notice details on a work order.

I have no idea if this will even get resolved. I don't even care if I lower their CSI and their pay/bonuses get docked. I just didn't want my paint getting marred like it had been done, and I want them to foot the bill for either my own business or another detailer to bring it back to how it was on Sunday.

tl;dr: Go to Piercey Toyota for service. I told Capitol Subaru to not wash my car after I just had the paint corrected and coated. They washed it and put swirl marks all over my car, effectively ruining 12 hours of work.
I feel like I need to rain on this Peircey parade a bit. I went in for scheduled maintenance and they came back with the recommendation that I need an alignment performed based on tire wear. I inspected my tires and they look fine. When I asked which side the car was pulling to, they said they didn't drive it, they just based the recommendation on the looks of the tires. That should've been my first red flag.

After the service I brought my car back in for some complaints. The service manager, Mike J. is a straight-faced liar. Twice (not once, but twice) he scheduled an appointment with me to see him, but the times were conveniently during times his off days. Really, Mike, you don't know your off days? He had promised to fix the issues, but since he wasn't in, I had to see the other manager, Kevin B, who refused to honor Mike's statements.

What a bunch of scumbags. I will never take my car here again.
