Le Mans 2016 is their goal.

Here's my evidence:

http://www.motorsport.com/lemans/new...n-2016-459802/

http://www.motorsport.com/automotive...not-disappoint

Cliff Notes' summary:
  • Ford won the outright Le Mans crown in 1966. 2016 is 50 years since the race
  • Car is designed to be easily homologated as a GT3, with wide appeal for Ford Racing customers
  • engine is sourced out of TUDOR/Daytona Prototype w/ eye towards ACO/Le Mans regulations (see 3.5L turbo engine detuned w/ restrictors for Le Mans)
  • Chip Ganassi Racing to field 2-car GT Le Mans for 2016
  • Car is shown with Michelin tires... which is the dominant tire manufacturer at Le Mans.

Everything from the build of the car to the technical specs it meets to the press conference (Ford 1/12, FIA WEC 1/13) points out to the simple conclusion that Ford is aiming for 2016 Le Mans entry.

All things I dislike in cars. No way in hell will I ever buy one.
Ugh. I wish manufacturers would stop making hybrids, two drivelines just makes the car heavy and complicates the mechanicals.

Every new car with an electric motor should be purely electric with a petrol/diesel/gas/fuel cell generator.

Best supercar since LFA. If I had the money for a Porsche 911 Turbo S, a Lamborghini Huracan or McLaren 650 S, I'd pick this NSX.

I'm with you on that, particularly the fuel cell. I'm very disappointed Chevy produced the Bolt as pure electric. They have proven they know better. (Yes, I realize the Volt is technically not pure electric since the motor assists at certain speeds, but there are sound engineering reasons for that, and that is what we really need).

IIT:

People who have never driven a supercar complain about hybrid tech
People who own a 25k car nitpick something they could never afford
People act like they are 'chosing' to not buy the car

Lol.... Just LOL !!
