Car won't turn on.

Hey guys so I haven't driven my car since thursday and today I went to go start it and nothing will turn on. The doors won't even unlock. Could it be the battery? My car only has 15,000 miles and I recently installed the Buddy club JDM tail lights but those were plug and plug and I've had other tail lights such as TOMS on my car before with no issues. I tried hooking up spark plugs to the battery and the lights came on but then the car died again. I then tried a second time and nothing. Anyone have any input?

Check your battery with a multimeter, check your fuses, check your alternator, the basics.

Unfortunately I don't have a multimeter but I checked the fuses and the alternator and they were fine.

Its almost certainly the battery. This happened to me a while back although my car was unlocked. I turned the key and nothing, not even a click, bought another battery and fired up just fine.

^Second If you cant even operate your doors with your remote, thats your battery.

Did you close your trunk completely? I killed my battery the other week when the trunk wasn't closed all the way. Charged it back up and it's been fine.

Do you have jumper cables and a friendly neighbor?

Also, get yourself a multimeter. It will pay itself off hundreds of times over.

Probably don't need to buy a battery, jump the car and drive it for an hour to charge it up, figure out if you have a fault in the system first, even the most competent of master mechanics make mistakes.

Just an FYI! Us Northerners can have the horrible experience of a battery freezing if it goes flat when really cold. So replacement of a dead flat battery in below zero temperatures is just a fact of life.

Correct that he needs to check it out even though a new battery "fixed" it. Something caused it to go flat and recently installed tails is some pretty convincing evidence even if just plug and play!
